Few sunny spells this morning but increasingly cloudy with odd spot of drizzle. Temp 14.3C -
The hill fog means not a good day for the shooters. Temp 12.3C, fog, dark,drizzle.

Surprisingly nice day here, sunny spells. Fohn effect perhaps from NW wind. Actually apart from the rain on saturday, the weekend was much better than expected. Temp 16.6C

662mm here on the Eastern side of Pennines. Its been a much drier summer than the last 4.

The Eastern side of England did pretty well last July. Here in the Pennines it was a dull wet month with average temps. This July has felt a better month even though it has been cooler, this is due to less rain and increased sunshine. The 4th of July was last 20+C day last year, I'm sure this second half of summer will be better.

Cloudy but bright few sunny intervals late afternoon for around an hour. Max 16.6 Currently 11.6C This July has felt the best one since 2006. Drier if cooler but some nice days none the less.

Is Anyone Else Getting Fed Up With British 'summers'?

Dont think its been that bad a summer so far in this neck of the woods it was much wetter in 07/08/09. Just an average summer here so far. Yes 1985 was a very poor summer in Cumbria. 3rd wettest of the century in parts of the Lakes. -

Shrs this aftenoon, much heavier shrs in the Upper Eden valley over in Cumbria this afternoon. Esp in Stainmore area. Local flooding, rivers rose expectionally quickly. Est rainfall totals 25/50mm in a couple of hours

For all the talk of cool unsettled weather so far this late spring/early summer there's only been the odd what I'd call cold day. Only two single figure max's in april, none in May and one in June so far here. Two days above 20C so far this year isn't at all unsual. I'm sure there will be a week or so spell of hot sunny weather at some point this summer but away from the SE you carn't expect much more on average.
