Heavy sploge of precipitation inbound. Rain, sleet or snow..?
-
Alternating between drizzle and wet snow in Harrow. Too far north for the heavier precipitation (thankfully?)

Is that band coming up through London snow/rain/sleet?
Is drizzle here with a dewpoint of 1c, although suspect its wet snow under the heavier busts (further north and west you are the better)

Average depth is just under 5cm. Snow coming down heavy again, but should clear within the hour. The slow thaw will then kick in!

Still coming down moderately. The heaviest snow remaining close to the Thames. Front still slowly progressing north

Starting to get heavier. Close to 2cm now in harrow. Precipitation really prepping up across London

Coming down nicely now. Over a cm. Seems to be pepping up once it hits the M25 / Thames

Nice thin layer of snow here (1cm) in West London, got more a few days back but the night is early!
Yes, looks good for a few cm's in our neck of the woods. HIRLAM suggests closer to 10, but is probably over done...

Moderate snow now, albeit small flakes. Good dusting already. Looks like i'll be too far west for the heavy stuff, although it does seem to reinvigorating as it hits the m25. Better than nothing!

West London crew, what's going on?
The first few flakes near Harrow on the Hill. Lets hope we are not too far west. NE London looks good

This place is a hoot .
I love all the obituaries before the event has even properly started!
Indeed. Most of the models don't have the band hitting London until close to midnight

Temp dropping like a stone, now 0.1c. Going to be a long night of radar watching!

Temp dropping in NW London, currently 1.5c and -2c dew point. Another round of upgrades on 12z, might break 5cm! I knew i should have done my 'wfh' day tomorrow. Then again would have jinxed it..

Hope you're right but to me Hirlam looks to stall the front a bit too far south for us. GFS 12z showing a greater northward progression but ppn fizzles out very quickly so we'd be lucky to see a couple of cm.
You should be okay going by the HIRLAM, albeit the further west you are the better (a dusting to a cm or two). Would caution using the mesoscale models like the GFS. The higher res models are better. However, it really is a case of radar watching now.

Note the low goes east, helping to push the front a little further north (and enhancing the precipitation rates)

HIRLAM is especially good for those of us in NW London (within M25), 3-5cm of snow.

Hi all,
Just been outside here in Blackfriars and it is trying to rain already, I did not think anything was coming through until after dark
Cheers

Maybe its to do with streamers
Never trust the meto graphics. For us I think its looking good for a cm or two of snow, from several hours light but patchy snow.

Light snow, although not sticking with a temp of 1.6c. Suspect what is left of last nights covering will be gone in the morning
