  1. Just had some light snow. Seems the Pennies are killing precipitation, except for those in the Midlands. Hopefully that nice little streamer can make it over. With regards to tonight i'd place the eastern extremities as Leeds, Doncaster down to Retford. Chesterfield probably the best location
  2. haha i can't imagine what its like in the meto at the moment. I imagine some orange warnings later!
  3. Latest from the ECM (from Nick) is precipitation entering NW England, passing through South Yorkshire and into the Midlands. So South Yorkshire and North Mids currently favoured. All we can do now though is watch the radar!
  4. Thanks . An exciting evening! Yes, on to now casting, although good see a shift north
  5. By northern England i'm assuming through the NW, Yorkshire (southern parts) and into the east mids? Going to be a long night!
  6. I would't be ruling out West Yorkshire just yet, however areas with a chance, imo, are those in the western and southern areas of the region
  7. I think i'd agree, although perhaps move the track a nudge north and east based on the radar. Could easily give another 5-15cm for those caught in it!
  8. 12zNMM Heavy snow for the South Yorkshire/Derbyshire area. Note that already the band is further east.
  9. 12zNMM. Already further east ! NW England by midnight, perhaps (slightly) further east? Spell of heavy snow for South Yorkshire, North and East Midlands
  10. So heres the 6z position of the PP and the radars Much further east than forecast. Will update with the 12z! In the mean time another couple of cm's for Sheffield and Chesterfield in the next few hours, according to the radar..
  11. I wouldn't count you out, although further south and west seems better (Sheffield and Chesterfield region). So far its further east than modelled/ Latest NMM has it brushing through south Yorkshire, further north than the 6z. Certainly, whoever it hits, is going to get a decent pasting!
  12. That shower coming in over Preston seems to have our name on it @Chevweather Should it hit our region then a further 5-10cm seems possible. Would make for an interesting commute
  13. Haha i hadn't even noticed them, too busy watching this PL. Even if it misses us, still fascinating to watch. Hopefully the hills are kind to these next few showers
  14. Latest NMM, albeit the French version. Further North and west than the 6z, although by small amounts only. Its going to be very interesting watch this one unfold!
  15. Would most likely be light, although the lines are more to illustrate potential track over our area NMM has precipitation in the South and West of our region
  16. Perhaps something like this? Precipitation (slightly) too far west on the GFS
  17. Polar low looks interesting, pretty certain it won't reach here but will it have any impact on tonight's precipitation, bringing it further west perhaps? One to monitor Temp 0.5c so should start freezing over
  18. Most likely irrelevant however the GFS 12 shifts the precipitation westwards, possibly hitting the North Midlands and Western areas of South and West Yorkshire... Resolution means i wouldn't place much faith in such occurrence, however, highlights some potential interest for tonight! Fantastic pictures! Which part of Sheffield you in? Have relatives over in Fulwood, can imagine it is bad that end
  19. Looks like that's it, for now (with the streamer pushing through Lincolnshire). Will we strike lucky tonight? The further west and south you are the better
  20. Yes, the Pennines have got their act together . Still, can't complain! Edit: Light snow, will add nothing though. Eyeing up that shower over Holmfirth, although the hills will most likely kill it
  21. Well started off with a dusting at 9am, but managed 10cm my 12pm, and 15cm in the higher up village (only by 60m). 20cm in places but probably wind. Got stuck under that streamer that seemed very localised. More snow on the radar by the looks of it!
  22. 15-20 cm of snow here. Will post picture shortly!
  23. Well woke up to a dusting of snow, falling quite heavy at the moment. Radar indicates plenty more showers to come. All in all not bad given the set up
  24. As i expected i was just too far south. Still, plenty of showers to come tonight so hopefully a cm or two by morning, unless it melts, at 2.1c
