Its a white christmas guys:), 1.5inches of snow on most services still here today, max temperture 2.1c its currently -1.4c.

Been out there with the wheelbarrow and shovel clearing the paths as my mother fell over and hurt her self so i thought i beter to do something about it. Anyway Merry Christmas and A happy new year to everyone. Snow here next week is on the cards:) Might keep the snow I already have doesnt seem to want to go:)

Slightly further north and with a bit of elevation there is lot more snow, roads are quite bad... just slushy here but terible further away

Whats the best way to melt ice on the driveway, its been there for a few days now, black ice too, i don't know what to do because i might make it worse. I don't have any sand, just salt.

Spread lots of Grit? Makes a mess though?

Erm you could try lots of table salt, then scrape it to the side ... chuck some more on after you cleared the ice

Might be better if they do come in the early hours, as at least then temps will be lower, and conditions less marginal for snow.

and of course if they keep their intensity then they could give quite a dumping because they are so slow

Typical if these showers don't make any progress that means i would have missed the snow to the north, east, south and now the west. Is there some sort of snow shield surrounding this place or what, i know we are at sea level but so are many other places that had a good dumping.

Oh well will have to wait until February or March normally have more of a chance then.

showers tonight heading towards ENE although ground winds (700hPa winds affect clouds I think??) are like coming from East in parts like Pembrey and NE in Mumbles + Cardiff sort of

The showers in West Wales hae taken like 1 hour and 15 minutes to travel around 10 or so miles from St. Davids City Pembs.

Nothing here this morning apart from frost and ice. Llanelli was completely a different story, snow which had frozen on all roads, slid in a few places, 20mph all the way took me what seemed like an age to get to work. The conditions also causing lots of problems for my works, car park was coated with thick frozen hail/snow. Batch of rain/sleet/snow moving slowly over pembrokeshire at the mo.

it's moving stupidly slow and if it gets here... well that's another story.

If it does make it and it falls as snow then obviously the 'slow' part is good.

I think it's marginal though, extremely wet snow/icy rain/sleet in Carmarthen early with Temp of 0C, Dew of below 0Cm -5 850's and 528 DAM. Something is stopping it snowing :|
