Thats a quality red line, infact i think your red line is so hot its turning any snow into rain here in Swansea.
Make it a icy blue cyan type colour for good luck
Hey, welcome back this winter. I wish you the best luck possibly for snow. Have fun if you get some. (I'm sure you will see some tonight/tomorrow morning)

Sennybridge reporting heavy snow... anyone around there?
-
Would my extreme generalisation give an idea to where the cold front is?
No need to praise me for my awesome paint skills
-
It's like rain here, but it isn't... it's like drizzle but it isn't.... the precip is floating like icy sort of rain
and Tony keeps us updates with your temps regulary could you? much appreciated
-
not long surely?
_____
Tony Ceredigion... what's the situation with you?
-
Well its raining here
and hopefully the cold front which is getting closer should produce snow
-
Drizzly mostly rain, perhaps a little sleet mixed in,
Well I just took a walk and slid several times on the soaking icy pavements here...
Oh and now the grit is useless isn't it since it's bin washed away
Idiot drivers speeding up and down hae no idea, poor fools.
-
Rain quite heavy now, its going to be bad later on as this rain would have washed the salt thats on the roads away and then freeze much easier. Incidently, while i was lamp post watching, a thought popped into my head, Why are street lights orange?
Low Pressure Sodium (LPS) lamp is by far the most efficient light source used in street lighting. The lamps produce a monochromatic orange-yellow light, from lamps which are long and skinny.
Ugly things though.

The RAIN has arrived! Temp has gone up to 2.5 degrees, from 1.5, in the last 40mins or so.
Hoping that the cold air undercuts the warm sector sooner rather than later.
There's a lot of stuff coming down the Irish Sea, so I feel time may be on our side.
Surprise surprise
We're a bit too far south and west
Maybe later now showers will be wintry
Temps are going to fall again so paths/side roads will be deadly
Llandovery northwards have a better chance
-
The rain will be moving in here at any moment now, just driven back home and my car was reading around 1.5 degrees here.
1.5C sounds about right for here as well although the place has ice everywhere
Precip on our doorstep now eh
-
Does anyone think we have a chance of it sticking?
If it falls as snow and not rain with frozen grounds then yeah sure, why not
-
Temps seem to have stabalised here at 1.4 degrees. There's a layer of ice over everything outside. This is so marginal!
Looking at the radar, there's certainly no shortage of precipitation. If you're lucky enough to get it as snow, you may get a good covering.
Won't be long now... Precip in Pembs heading for us B)
-
Lol, temp is dropping here so there's a chance now.
I don't think the mild has got to you yet?
What's your temp

Good evening Wales! As a Welshman now living in Buckinghamshire I hope you guys get some decent snowfall. Looks like in the north (my old stomping ground) it's mostly rain or sleet except for the highest ground. In case you haven't seen it the radar on www.raintoday.co.uk is showing precipitation type for the rest of 2009, could be useful to all you lampost watching snow lovers!
Why is the precip type not going on next year then?
And I find Raintoday's precip type more useful than NW... but of course NW radar is the best
-
I think after midnight is the best chances for those who don't see snow.
-
At least it's turning more wintry in Ireland judging by people's reports.
Rather have a white-out of snow than these stupid icy roads tomorrow. It's going to be bad, especially if it falls as rain.
-
Freezing here, side roads and paths are deadly...
Went to Carmarthen and it's worse. It was raining heavily there early this afternoon and left lots of icy side roads. Further East with some elevation I would imagine it would have been Snow.
Be careful
__
What's the forecast for tonight then?
-
The radar seems to be showing it turning readily to snow from Ammanford
and Adam can confirm they are having a pasting. Probably covered up his way by now.
-
Tony is right. The precip completely missed me and I had a pathetic extremely light drizzle.
-
Bridgend could get some sometime later with a line of Precip heading there from West.
-
Looking at the radar, ive got a chance of catching the edge of a sleety shower in the next half an hour, although just looked out my window towards pembs and the sky is turning very dark.
Yep, Pembrey is still 1C with dew of 0C so if your lucky Snow maybe
-
Oh well, a sign of the less cold air up there, as its sleeting here, once it gets heavier it will be snow though!
Trouble is there is a fair chance that they will be right with the warm sector heading for Wales, we will see, at least its adding interest for us!
Now thats more like it...a bit of height and being more inland:
ITV Wales seem straight forward. (Well what we want to here then )
Wintry showers most places, probably turning to snow in most places latter part of evening.

Clearly all BBC forecasters have better technical knowledge than all of us on here. However we do have the advantage of local knowledge which is helpful in these situations as we know that a particular wind direction means for our location.
The lack of coverage given to Wales in recent forecasts has been bad, however they are clearly not certain on tomorrow's front so are playing it down.
But at the moment, I am a little disappointed with Derek's forecast today, for the rushed nature of it, but this is not helped by the snow drawings they do at this time of year, which severely cuts into the forecast time available.
All/most of the weather staff at the BBC are trained meteorologists, and their profiles can be found on the BBC weather pages online.
Fair enough.
In my opinion I if I was working for the BBC I would rather 'play it up' than down just to be on the safe side and not a repeat of previous mistakes over the years.
-
Can I just ask one question....
BBC Forecasters...
They are meant to be professional forecasters right? Why are they getting simple things wrong? Can't they see other possible scenarios to weather systems which may have a alternative outcome? Why don't they look at the big picture?
Just by reading these forums, half the members can forecast better than some BBC forecasters?
I may sound over the top, but there are some people on here who may not be considered professional that could do a much better job then some of the forecaster we have in the UK.
Some of the presented forecasts I've seen today with the BBC have been shockingly bad.
