Sunday/Monday could be quite well if our dreams come true? 12z
-
Thanks for the input Jackone, look forward to hearing more in good time.
Only time will tell the story, so let's look forward to what's to come but not get our hopes up to much

Well im hoping to get some snow here in Bridgend, but im not sure if we will, would be be to low down at 72meters and too far south to get any snow?
None for you this evening for sure...
Not sure about the outlook... some wintry showers I suppose later on in the week.

So we've been given a question in Geography about El Nino.
I'm trying to find articles on the internet with more info but not much use.
I was wondering if anyone could give me some extra info.... the question is:
Give arguments to describe why an El Nino can at the same time cause a drought and forest fires in Indonesia and heavy flooding in California?
Any help much appreciated thanks.

it eased off early but now picked up here. I can confirm the last 30 minutes of a strike every 2 minutes

Jesus, looking at the radar some more stuff heading for me, may not be huge but the only problem I have is power cuts!
Where is the big beast over the Channel expected to affect?
-
I added some pics on previous page now of one just passed wales
Those are some great pictures! What's the big lights on the left of some pics? Port Talbot Works?
I can't believe some people are just sitting out in this (as seen in one of you pics)
-
Calmed here now after regular flashes all the time... only one got close and that cut the power... not happy about that! but still a good show, only needed some popcorn and it would have been better than the Cinema!
Please don't say the big one North France will hit Wales?
-
really picking up now, so awesome
-
Finally started here again
-
if Cardiff got a battering then it's heading here hopefully... Swansea in for it next?
-
NW detection back up to 17 per min now...
Nothing here now it's dead compared to early. Waiting for another storm to hopefully hit me very soon
-
2 strikes per minutes according to NW Detector Not very good compared to early
-
Could showers just pop up from anywhere like this bulk over Wales sort of did over South West England?
-
Sexy rumbles here, sweet. Not seen lightning yet but gonna stare out the window now!
Is it worth keeping appliances on during a storm? Worth the risk?

Tipping down with Snow again. After the roads getting some grit it's started to accumulate on the roads again. (mainly centre and sides)
-
I know we missed out on last nights event, although on my way to work this morning Trim lookes like a scene from a Christmas Cards with the canopy of trees above the road lined with snow, and as i said earlier the roads in Pontantwn, 4 Roads and Mynydd were turning white and in Kidwelly cars had slight covering.
I think I should move, I bet Pontyates is white aswell is it.
It's okay up here in Pontyates, roads are clear now. It did start to stick on roads a bit, still a good dusting/covering here. It get's better more inland, Bancffosfelen is lovely! A lot of laying snow up there, one of the highest areas in Gwendraeth Valley I think so higher the more accumulation around here.
EDIT: Heavy snow again in a small shower.

Im in Kidwelly
Agh lovely Kidwelly, I'm afraid they might just clip you at the best. Some light stuff for you. Shame your down there.
Good luck.

Just been looking at the radar nothing is making its way to me here its all going to the east of me, oh well i'm happy with Tuesdays fall, can't complain
What's your location in Carmarthenshire? Although some heavier bits and bobs appear over the East now maybe some more heavier and organised showers will come down our way? You never know.
-
One or two light flakes in the wind, not really reaching here yet.
The initial moderate shower which gave me a good dusting (including main roads initially but they seem okay now) died out over the Gower. Hope some last to get to you!
I'm happy with these nice showers currently.

Fresh snow cover in Carmarthen:
Yep, I'm about 10 miles or something from there. We got showers coming in heading SE. Currently snowing again. Lovely here.

Oh I've been out at stupid times in slippers to see what's falling
Sorry for off-topic but:
How does the NW Radar determine whether PPN is Snow/Sleet ?
Does it just look at the forecasted conditions and weather station temp + dew?
Would like to know
