Chief Forecaster's assessment
Coastal areas facing west or southwest will probably miss most of the snow, but hail and lightning will be hazards here, along with gusty winds.

I suspect once again we will only get rain or sleet here in Pembs
Just have to keep fingers crossed, probably the best prospects for snow so far this winter.
Looking forward to MetO updates tomorrow.

Thought I'd put this in here, courtesy of Fergie in the model thread:
Ah, righty-Ho. I can share only a past (now 24hr old) E4 prognosis, as not allowed to do so with current one (watch BBC for latest version). But you get the distributional idea we are running with (this prognosis to 00z Weds). I've cut the scale off, because we aren't running with the raw output on amounts and wouldn't want it taken literally. Ditto distribution nuances, not least as this isn't the current output!

There's no need for that, everybody is welcome here and I enjoy reading everyone's input... Cymro was being positive about this winter and your reply to him did come across as a bit unfriendly in my opinion. On the other hand it's difficult on the internet to 'tell' how ones coming across, so why don't we all forget about it and chat about the upcoming weather.
I'm quite excited, should see lots of different kind of weather this week and hopefully a some wintriness, especially at the end of the week.

Lovely couple of frosty days here with ice surviving in the shade, actually feels like winter. Much better than wind and rain even though it's been quite slippery under the foot out there.
This morning had a low of -3.7c.

Turs back to sleet when precipation light now turned back to snow again,there will be terrible ice tomorrow.Looks the streamer is growing were in Wales will it hit?
With the shift in wind I think Pembrokeshire will probably see most of the PPN... agh well, hope it falls as snow for them

Well it looks like our risk of snow has all but gone now for the weekend

Can't believe this rain, back to what we're used to then. The diverse weather is fascinating but as much of a cold lover as I am, I am looking forward to spring/summer.

DP Still at 1.5C,temp has dropped to 0C, winds have picked up, light snow. Im expecting around 6pm for the heavy stuff to arrive!
How can your dew point be higher than your air temp? Or did you mean your temp is 1.5 and dp 0

Temperature wayy too high here at the moment 2.3c...though it is dropping slowly!
To me it looks like there's a gap between precipitation and that gap may mean we miss out if it continues travelling in the direction it currently is
