Temps dropping lovely here, 3.2c. Fireworks are doing my head in though, everybody seems to have some in my village tonight.
Showers in-coming judging by the radar... NMM about 3c out for my location at the moment, clear skies see.
-
Low of 1.1c at 06:42.
Damp but BRIGHT out. If these showers and cloud clear it would be an even more pleasant day.

I know its a bit off topic but wouldnt know where else to ask. Also i know us welshies are all friendly, can anyone recommend some books for learning about different weather features during the winter and thunderstorms etc. Reason being that i just want to improve my knowledge ready for next winter. Sorry this is completely random lol.
You probably already know this but there are some great guides on the learners section of the forum... some are a bit complicated but you can learn quite a bit off here if you had the time. I would also be interested in some weather books to improve my knowledge...

Just driving home and the shower that was passing was definitely very sleety in nature at one point. Here it's currently 4.2c with a DP of -0.7

midnight tonight? im getting confused as to what to expect from this. Im afraid that if i blink long enough il miss it and it will be spring lol.
In terms of snow definitely not tonight
-
I remember 0n 30th March 2010 I think it was we had a cold spell of weather and we had a really heavy shower that quickly turned to heavy wet snow for about 2munites and then passed! So next month it is more than possible to get snow, but by then I will be looking more for thunderstorms than snow! However I have already had 2 days last month with thundery showers, so its a better start that the last few years, just hope that spring and summer provide many more!
Just a random question... during a thunderstorm do you risk keeping your computer equipment plugged in?
What about others?
Personally I disconnect all my valuables

Can't believe how quiet it is here hahaha...
Snow for my location tomorrow looks unlikely... until AT LEAST 6pm... and even after that the air temperatures remains horribly high for the rest of the evening according to the NMM....
I know that temps can drop like a stone once the cold front passes BUT will it be enough?
If you're around Jackone what is your take on things from this mornings outputs?
-
2c here. No PPN.
Checking my weather station and on the 1st of February my room temperature got down to a low of 11.6c! :o Currently 16.8c and I'm shivering. Can anyone else beat 11.6c indoors? (no cheating, i.e if your weather station or thermometer is in the shed or something)
-
Bristol/Lulsgate observation reporting rain snow. And just across the water in Cardiff Airport temps are a couple of degrees higher.
-
How much is toooooooooooooooo much snow - THIS MUCH?
That looks like your road last week Andy? haha
-
Difference being my temperature reader probably isn't as reliable as yours!
What's the rain been like by you? I know you are only a couple of miles away but the weather in the past week or two has varied dramatically! You know it's bad when you start asking the question "What's the rain like by you?"
Haha. It was sleety at times when the DP was around freezing but now it's pure rain. DP has shot up. RH is 97% at the moment, up from around 75% in the early hours.
-
It's 3c here at the moment. Still very light rain, hardly noticeable infact. Strange, because the radar shows as if we should be having heavy rain or at least moderate but this is very very light.
3c! Wow. My weather station reads 1.5c - starting to rise quickly now though. Pembrey Sands is only 2.5c.
-
If there's a cold front approaching after the current front wouldn't that dry the air slightly allowing dew points to fall again? or am I missing something. Of course this is no good for snow if the temps remain on the mild side with high uppers....
-
-
But with that comes warmer air.. Will more than likely turn to rain unfortunately! I hope I am wrong but all I am saying is don't get your hopes up!
It was fun at 5AM this morning - unfortunately PPN turned to sleet/rain later on haha
We should head up the black mountain and have some fun whilst it still remains as snow
-
I just woke up, 1c DP -1c DRIZZLE by the looks of things...
Meh.
Most of this mornings snow has thawed as well,
-
Back to bed for me anyway -1.0c now.
Let's hope it's not a complete washout when I re-wake.
-
WHHHHHHHATTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT - I just happened to wake and it's snowing, everything is white
-0.8c by the way. decreased from earlier which was hovering around -0.4c
Update:
Just a small covering at the moment - snow is settling on the main road here, but it is patchy. I really hope more precipitation makes it soon, just a shower by the looks of it.
Update:
Looking at the radar history the shower formed over land in Pemborkshire about 20 miles away but has already nearly fizzled out. Not much energy at all. I wonder how much precipitation will make it in roads later.
Currently very light snow - small dry flakes.
-
why?
Because Dublin is much further west than you. If it's snowing in Dublin there would be a good chance precipitation will begin as snow for you.
-
Temp much higher this evening than it was last night. Currently at -1.8c.
This mornings low was -6.6c, yesterdays was -6.0 and Wednesdays was -4.5c.
Todays max was 1.9c, yesterdays was 2.3c and Wednesdays was 3.1c.
Enjoy the rain/sleet/snow guys.

Now that is promising for most of Wales.. Still looks touch and go for me in Pontyberem, near Llanelli & Carmarthen but it's looking a lot better..
Still, a lot of rain behind it! Can't see all of that turning to snow..
Yeah, I guess higher ground in the West/SW of Wales should definitely see some snow (areas close to us, namely Tumble/Llannon/Mynydd Sylen as per usual lol)

Better late than never nae
Not bad for Sat evening. I mean if the NAE is showing signs of wintry precipitation for most of Wales then surely people still have some hope. Definitely a now-casting event as many people have repeatedly said.

Little snow symbols showing on my weather station for the first time since last winter, always nice to see haha (probably the closest to snow I'll get)...
Max temp 4c and currently 0.4c, temps dropping like a stone here.
