So what's happening tonight and tomorrow morning then?
Showers in the west this evening I assume judging by the radar? and some sort of precipitation band pushing through in the early hours giving mostly rain (+snow on high ground)
Then possibly a re-freeze around 6-8AM
I would appreciate it if someone could kindly give a bit more detail
Thanks

Judging by the radar the precip, falling as rain at the moment, is moving away and we don't have long left so I think that's that for here! Oh well, at least I can get to work without any fuss tomorrow
Good night, hope some of you see snow.
Yep. 2.9c here now. My fear is precipitation now... not temps haha.
Also, we might have to battle icy roads on the way to work... depending on how low the temp gets.
Good night CarmsSnow

Im not really the person to ask but yes they are falling quickly. I expected them to rise to about 5c and hover about that for most of the night.
It's made me more hopeful but I'm not any more confident than earlier lol
-
Temperature suddenly starting to drop more rapidly...down to 3.9c, rain getting a bit heavier
Same here Im at 3.4c now.
-
Temp 4.5, light rain, chance of snow overnight, but will not settle anyway.
More hopeful on snow showers, tomorrow afternoon into weekend.
Yeah maybe, could surprise us... who knows haha
-
Down a tad here to 4.0c
DP around 2c
-
4.3c light rain as well.
Are the temps set to rise a little more soon?
-
Hiya Shaun. Yep- the NetWeather Pontyates Massive is down to one! And, great question- I'm actually missing the rolling green hills and the Rwyth Inn and er... let's just leave it there, shall we?
You might get a bit of snow tonight, at the top of the hill there? More than I'll get here, I'm sure...
Who knows... maybe haha.
Rwyth Inn, oh god. ha.
-
Still undecided whether I want snow, as I have a 6am start to
morrow! I'm expecting to see some rain fairly soon, wonder if it'll turn to snow throughout the night..
Yes 6am here too... I just hope there won't be chaos but I bet it will be rain/sleet so should be okay.

Evening All-
Rain and 5c in Tenby. Very dark and heavy sky at dusk and, for the first time in what seems weeks, no wind!
Not expecting anything here- bar perhaps the odd bit of sleet first thing.
Good luck!
So you moved to Tenby?
What was wrong with Pontyates? haha
-
Temp still slowly dropping here which is strange for my location.
3.7c now, I expect a bit of a warm up soon.
Precipitation on my door step now.
-
4.1c here. Expecting rain, then more rain - possibly sleet if I'm lucky in the early hours.
Have fun everyone, whoever get's snow make the most of it for the rest of us who won't see any haha
-
Yeah Seems they have had warnings out in the past for east wales and further west we have had snow on occasion interesting how this will play out later.
That's true...
Like others have said, nowcasting is probably the best thing to do later because precipitation is hard to forecast.
What time approximately will the cold air start to feed in to Wales?
-
-
Very intense precipitation moved up from Llanelli>Pontarddulais>Bynamman
-
Might have some interesting news - give me 5 mins
You've won the euromillions and you're taking us all the the arctic?
-
Could you give the link for the Newtown cam Shaun thanks?
Two from Newtown - Traffic Wales direct links:

Clear of snow at the moment

Also, on Traffic Wales if you find a camera that you like then open it up on their map interface, right click on the image and find the URL. Copy that URL in to a new tab/window and bookmark it. Saves going through their mapping system all the time...
For example I have a folder on Google Chrome with all local traffic cameras bookmarked so I can link directly to the image... saves time

I didn't expect much and definitely no pure snow settling... but to be honest I am disappointed... It's gone 8pm, my temp is still high and ppn is rain/hail with occasional flakes at best. Dew point is not to bad at the moment but I don't like to be teased with hints of wintriness. Either fall as snow or rain, no sleet nonsense - please.
Perhaps I should move further away from the coast, up on a mountain (I'm approx 7 miles from the coast and Prembrey Sands MetO station)
______
Also temp keeps floating between 5-6c here. Rising before a shower then drops back down at the back edge/when PPN ceases... like now, plummeting back down in minutes. Currently 5.1c
-
So finally I have witnessed some precipitation myself today back home. Temp dropped rapidly with the shower to 5.4c dp -0.4c. Mainly rain with some snow flakes/icy crap.
-
Quite a few wintry showers have passed through here, rain, hail, sleet, wet snow, the lot. The wind is also quite strong especially in the showers, but as of yet no proper snow falling
Hey yes, I've had friends text me in Llanelli to say it's snowing (i can't see outside from work)... They claim snow, however i think perhaps more like wet snow as you say. Heavy snow was observed at Pembrey Sands at 11am. Temp recorded was 7.2c so i don't know maybe wet snow in a heavy shower...

mid wales is at 5w on the bottomof the chart
shows 850 hpa -4
900 hpa 0 freezing level
925 hpa 2c
950 hpa 2c
975 hpa 2c
1000 hpa 3c
so convert 900 hpa to meters=900m
so if u att is 700 mthe ppn has to
fall through 200m of 2c
it can be worked out
Oh I see, thank you.
Also @ JACKONE I believe that is Hayley in Marcus's avatar.

Same here. At 0.0c now.
