  1. interesting trip for some on the ferry from isle of lewis to ullapool ,they spent 7 hours on it as it couldn't dock ,should have been 2 and a half

  4. so really that storm surge is going to be the thing that they have to watch out for ,living on isle of lewis for years ,100 mile an hour winds happened ,feel for the islands this hit on the way though ,and trying to understand the difference in wind speeds ,although i understand that she down graded and had to regain strength ,very confusing storm
  5. rushed out of work at 12 ,boss wanted to know where the fire was,i never leave on time, i know they predicted landfall about 11 ,but her path is stepping around a bit, keep seeing she's made landfall ,is that on the keys or the mainland ,and has she or is she just off the coast still
  6. watching a live facebook feed not sure how to share it on here but wow that wind ,cannot work out where the feed is from though

  9. that was an amazing storm the speed it intensified and the way that it behaved was fascinating ,worth watching for that reason ,thank you for all your help with the links
  10. been reading some articales about it ,one person said that the town floods in heavy rain but not to worry they have blocked the bottom of the doors ,another said she was prepared and taped the windows ,hotel worker said he had heard, there was a storm coming, but not to worry they had rooms that were safe ,anybody mad enough to intercept this
  11. no we used to live in lewis surprised the weather made me late as 14 years of lewis storms never did ,i need to find a live weather station for the area ,
  12. well i was late for the first time ever, ,our neighbor thought a marquee would be a good idea on top of a hill ,and it is completely across the road and blocking the track so had to walk the couple of miles to work and home again she's waiting for the wind to die down to untangle it any idea when ,i'll have to find some weather links for evanton ,i knew all of them for the isle of lewis ,hope the isles are fairing ok
  13. i have managed to get back home as we are staying with our daughter ,the windows at the front of the house all blew in ,thank you for your help,your advise was a life saver on the night as we were thinking of running for it ,we got a phone call from the emergency services at 4 am asking if we need evacuating as it wouldn't be long till it was safe enough to do so ,we are starting to pack up the house as we will have to move ,again thank you ,and i'm not sure what it would take to get a red warning
  14. Thank all of you guys for your help tonight, I'll give you guys a update on what the outcome was when I find out. I do know that the roof (some how) managed to stay attached, it's going to look bad in the morning as next doors garage roof has been lifted clean off n is now spread over mums drive way. But thank u so much u
  15. Does anyone know if the winds about to calm down, the police have said they can not get out n to get in the hallway n stay there till they can get them. (Milkmaids daughter)
  16. Milkmaid has been forced to make a run for it as the roof is gonna go with 3 of them stuck in the house she's calling 999 to help as she also has 2 dogs there. Edited: she's been told to stay put by the police don't think even they can risk it either

  18. Hi Desperately need to know whether the worst has hit the isle of Lewis as milkmaid needs to know whether to make a run from her house as her windows have blown out n the roof may go as well? (Sorry this is her daughter admin I hope it's ok)
