  1. The first photo of Mamatus is simply beautiful and almost a photo from another planet.! I've seen loads of Mamatus photos over the years Paul, but that's got to be the best I've ever seen. Best of luck with the tours...☺
  2. Models shaping up for the briefest of Plumes.....in a weeks time which won't be there this time next week
  3. There is only one winner in this situation, the company which makes electric cars, renewable energy, etc which when you wittel it down is about as green as diesel fumes. Don't worry Mr Jo Moneymaking will be on the end of the conveyer belt rubbing his hands in £50 notes
  4. As always, just any signs of heat is always in fantasy island. Just like any cold as we approach Winter! The Atlantic is in Control for next week , .....
  5. Tentative signs of a warm up at the outer stages of ecm especially, but trends from both models gfs and ecm show a dry pattern especially for southern Britain, won't belong before the water authorities will be bleating on about water shortages, .
  6. The blocked pattern continues with little if any rainin the days and even weeks ahead, for many perhaps more of a Splash in the next few days for the north west of the uk, and perhaps a few showers elsewhere, but notably dry for most and with surpressed temperatures with risk of frost well into next week ,not the best news for gardeners and growers. The water companies will be bleating on soon about lack of water and perhaps water restrictions as we move into May and into early summer just like 2012. Then what happened. .....
  7. Models still indicating a real feel cold spell as we start May, .......
  8. After the dry Winter..... Spain is having one of its wettest Springs ,and the Rain in Spain just won't fall only on the Plain!...Bad news for holiday makers who have spent a fortune to go to the sun, sorry rain .Northern Blocking in the coming weeks shows no sign of bowing down, so the cool unsettled wet weather for Iberia and beyond in southern Europe continues
  9. Not good news for gardeners and growers . Little if any rainfall , surpressed temperatures, and damaging frosts. At least it will feel nice in the strong Spring sunshine
  10. For thunderstorm lovers ,could do quite well over the next ten days or so as our weather becomes cyclonic with baggy areas of low pressure especially for southern Britain. Still some chilly nights too in any long lived clear skies overnight with frost possible but feeling pleasant enough in any sunshine given the strength of the sun at this time of year which is equal to August's intensity. Could well be some dramatic skyscapes as well.......
  11. For the forseable days ahead it looks like a " Slow Motion " weather pattern and not too much of anything be it rain sunshine or wind, cold or heat! Looks as though the trend for high pressure to become somewhat established to the north and north east of the British Isles, so April showers slow moving and thundery too for southern uk into next week further north nearer the high pressure something a little less damp, so overall generally precipitation giving us a Splash rather than a soak, and frost still possible for just about all next week in any clear and lengthy iterludes overnight
  12. The extended 10 day outlook, looks fairly benign any precipitation looks in the April showers variety ,Ecm turns a little more unsettled at later stages from the southwest , Gfs brings a cold airstream from the North.......
  13. Tbh, will be very surprised for major changes now as Easter weekend comes closer. It's only April and sea surface temperatures are about at their lowest. Looks potential for April showers some thundery I would imagine as we greet Good Friday, and overnight frosts too. But overall no deluge ,no heatwave but pleasant enough in the sunshine...Can't be too bad for a Easter weekend...☺
  14. Ecm has been crawling along to the Gfs for a few days now, so it looks as though Ecm is now a carbon copy of the Gfs at T+144 ! So hats off to the Gfs Easter shaping up fine but a chilly wind initially coming in from the East. It looks like April will see showers and below average precipitation for most..
  15. And don't forget the late Easter heatwave....81f everyone thought that this would continue through the Summsr
  16. Indeed remember this so well....Power cuts for a while over the Evesham area on May 24th 1989 .Remember in my bed as a 20 year old scared about the incoming storms.......The thunder was rolling and the lightning was striking But in all seriously, this was one of the best Thunderstorm outbreaks in my lifetime....Few since have matched it
  17. Really dislike this warm front/ mild sector gunk. It's like being in no man's land with non descript often cloudy damp boring Strato- cumulus clouds ,bring back the Artic Air, beautiful cloud scapes and some warm sparkling sunshine in between the crystal clear blue skies puntuated by some snow storms
  18. The jet stream meandering around a little this week. Main core of the jet over Iberia at the moment then the core of the jet moves north over the uk for a while ,then steadily moves south to Iberia during later week and weekend although buckling as it moves south. So no major warm up in the reliable in fact it turns quite cold as Artic air moves south for all later week, although the Artic air won't be as potent as last week's blast. After that the models at the moment show a signal for the jet to move north ,but that's a long way off and not in the reliable time-frame, it may be April will do the oki cokey in and out of Artic air for some time yet, nothing that unusual for this time of year...
  19. After a milder start to the new working week looks like the weather going to start to feel decidedly cold once again.......and once again for many places in southern Britain picticularly below average precipitation in the days ahead...
  20. There you go matey ,I'm cherry picking warm charts ,won't happen but at least I won't be on your ignore list
  21. It's not very often you can sit in your garden sunbathing, than the next minute run for shelter as a snow storm arrives... But goes to show that being the Best of British applies to the Weather as well.....
  22. The guarantee of cold almost certain for next week, the questions are the exact timing ,how cold, the longevity of cold and how much Wintry precipitation will occur or not. It does look however that this time next week the northern half of the uk if not more of us will being a significant change, and I would not be surprised that news headlines will report some snow around the country.
