By the 7th ,A severe spell of Winter ushered in , but by February 1st a major thaw took place with flooding and landslides. A serious drought followed until the end of May.... 1795....January and February were plunged into a long and severe winter ,with the Wye and Severn frozen over.. 1798..A big Dust Devil, was seen crossing the Herefordshire countryside just south of Ross on Wye. A huge column of dust and debris spiralled upwards to a great height, picking up straw and other items. Later in June another one was spotted at Droitwich in Worcestershire. It crossed the River Severn at Holt Fleet ,picking up a Quantity of water, and causing it to appear to rain from the clear blue sky as the wind passed through the countryside for another four miles. Enough water fell to give a sharp downpour ,complete with rainbow.! 1799....A long hot dry spell suddenly came to an end by the start of August, when violent thunderstorms swept into Herefordshire, then Worcestershire. Huge Hailstones an inch in diameter stripped the trees of their Summer foliage and damaged crops. 2. Climate models were predicting the Maldeves would be under water years ago , and as for the Government's Net zero policy , they might as well think we all came here on a Banana boat...
  3. Maybe there is no profit in Hydro. If it was lucrative I'm sure there would be hydro power everywhere. ,! As they say....Money Talks
  4. Wind turbines great idea , but let's look into it a little deeper. ...They Kill many birds, lots of manifacturing ,using Fossil fuels , they Blight the landscape, lots of maintaining, using fossil fuels, And they make lots of noise, and they are ugly scarring the Beautiful British countryside. ....And Wind Turbines are great when they turn, but during our coldest and hottest periods ,the wind does not blow, ......So when Mr UK needs the energy the most , the wind turbines are Useless...

  6. The confusion from the gfs and ecm is quite apparent today in the medium term.....
  7. Well said and very true. The agenda has been set many many times over ,the goal posts keep getting moved further back, and yet the weak and gullible are taken in. ...........
  8. Looks as though the Great Barrier Reef is healthy despite all the scaremongering. Talking to a very old gentleman who honeymooned there in the late 1950s and he said they were scaremongering about the coral reef back then saying there would be no reef in a few short years from then,,,,ummmgh
  9. Plenty of sea ice this year ,it's got more coverage than 40 years ago. .....!
  10. I don't know where you get your information from but it looks like you have been very mislead. Italy has not had the sixth hottest summer sine 1900. Italy was much warmer in the 1950s for instance and the late 1800s than it is now
  11. Oh yes there is ! Plenty of rain for you tomorrow perhaps a months worth of rain in one day!
  12. 1603-1605..A very damp and dismal time, with the plague raging and both people and animals suffering great hardship and disease with a shortage of food and fresh water.Torential rain was broken by extreme heat and drought. Crop failures were common. 1607-1608....Such cold prevailed especially between December 5th and February 4th that all streams and rivers froze to a depth that fires could be lit upon the ice. Blizzards caused drifts up to 25ft . 1615...On January 16th began the greatest snows within living memory. The snow increased daily until March 12th and there were further snows in April and drifts in the hills until late May. This was followed by intense heat and Violent thunderstorms in August which brought flooding. 1620...Frost fairs took place on the River Thames and to some extent on the Rivers Wye and Severn, with pig roasts on the frozen river as far as Gloucester. Heavy snow and thick river ice formed later that year by November 29th. Severe flooding occurred and 68 people lost their lives near Bewdley when the thaw began. 1622...January and the preceeding months were like summer but on February 18th at about 4am , Storm force winds brought down trees ,chimneys and steeples . Heavy rains until May made seed sowing late . December saw the return of the great frosts.... 1640...An extremely backward Spring for grass and fruit .Crops were damaged by intense storms and harvests were ruined by flooding rains.. 1683-1684...A cold winter brought intense frost with the longest frost in living memory. On May 8th frost and snow moved in . The cold came out of nowhere and dissappeared just as quick.
  13. I wonder if the Extreme heat made King Henry V111 go loopy with the year of the dissulotion of the Abbeys Just imagine knocking all those Iconic buildings down in that heat
  14. 1509:-With most favourable weather conditionsthroughout the year ,and an equal balance of sunshine and rain ,the harvest was abundant ,with wheat at its lowest price for two centuries. 1527:- A famine year, with great rains and sudden floods during the previous autumn and in the spring at sowing time.. Rain of particular intensity fell from 15th April to June 3rd. 1538-1541:- Extremely dry years with rainfall almost non- existent and rivers and streams drying out in parts.A remarkable series of droughts with a burning sun during the summer. 1564:- Winter began early this year with great frosts and early snow in November. Freezing rain hung so heavy on the trees that they broke under the weight. Wind vanes on county churches froze solid and people had great difficulty getting about because of the deep snow. Rivers froze over with some people taking advantage of the weather and playing football and bowls on the ice.
  15. Of note this Century 1483 was noted for its continual monsoon like rains. The river Wye in Herefordshire and the severn in Worcestershire rose rapidly ,with several people drowning in there beds as the water swept in. The waters did not abate for ten days and the occurrence became known as "The Great Water".
  16. Not surprising given the way the jet stream is there is a huge uncertainty in the longer range forecasts
  17. Looks like the base of Cumulus Nimbus clouds...☺
  18. Nasa back in 2005 showed Antartica cooling and from there on showed a warming trend.! Its clear that there has been a cooling trend for some time.....
  19. Well, taking the Ecm at day nine and ten ,would certainly be a massive change from the dull boring conditions of many recent days...☺
  20. Maybe a bit boring over here weather wise ,but look how cold Greenland is for this time of year !!!
  21. So the hysteria from the likes of CNN etc saying it's the first time it's rained at the summit of Greenland, .......
  22. Some graphs to show the extent of Antarctic and Artic ice now and in previous years. Interesting that when the IPCC was formed back in 1990 Artic sea ice was less than it is now! Also worth noting that the Artic sea ice is much thicker now than it was back in 2008......
