Summer 2021: Moans, Groans, Ramps and Banter
ANYWEATHER replied to damianslaw's topic in Spring Weather Discussion
The Met Office which I have no respect for have put an extreme heat warning for top temps in July of pushing into the late eighties. This is total nonsense. We are such a nanny state . The next thing the Met office will give us warnings about extreme drizzle . It's hot but a normal British heat. I can't imagine what they would do when real heatwaves it us in yesteryear such as the extreme heat in the 1930s when temperatures topped 40C plus in our area for instance . -

Plenty of hot sunshine for just about everyone in the next few days ,looking forward to a breakdown though by Friday, some great thunderstorms to look forward too, I think news headlines will be to do with flash flooding by then rather than heat as we move to the end of the working week.....! -

From what I can see from gfs and ecm the general trend from the models is for pressure to build this coming week from the Azores but as we near the ten day time frame pressure falls. Despite high pressure building later this week and 850s hPa show a warm humid airmass the track of air flowing around the high is not conducive to heat and sunshine....Western areas favour the best summer like weather...☺ -

Coming up ,a Traditional British summer ...some mixed spells but some very nice spells too. We are so lucky to live in this beautiful country, not posted any charts because if you're a true summer lover and want heat and sunshine it's always in day 10... -
Just research European heatwaves ...really nothing new , The Austrian Alps have found Artifacts in a Glacier from the first world war...the Glacier was not there back then, ,Grew and naturally started to retreat. . ..The Scaremongering from politicians and Gravy train scientists is truly awful .My point is the Glacier was not there in the first world war ,the Glacier in the intervening years as grown and slowly retreated. ..Ian.

North American Weather (U.S.A & Canada)
ANYWEATHER replied to Derbyshire_snow's topic in Weather Around The World
Going back in History we have to get a balance , on the climate and weather of North America....The USA for instance had hotter summers way back a hundred years ago than they do now, Can you imagine the media hype on the dust bowl years ? The extreme heat in the far south west of British Columbia was produced by the Adiabatic effect and the funneling of heat given that Large parts of the USA were below average such as New Mexico which are having there coolest temps on record for this time of year...but the media forgot to tell people that..July 1936 was a prime example of how hot North America was back then ,they were roasting from coast to coast of well above 100 heat...,July 4th 1911 was the hottest independence day on record with Boston Maccushites with 108f . The media forget on purpose to tell us the real truth. President Obama banging about rising sea levels bought a Villa in the Maldeves ,.Al Gore said in 2007 that the Artic would be ice free by 2014....and won Nobel Peace prize Winner ...have a look at the historic data folks , ......!Bbc ,Itv , and Sky ,along with meriads of order innstintutions have been telling us lies, yes lies..... -

North American Weather (U.S.A & Canada)
ANYWEATHER replied to Derbyshire_snow's topic in Weather Around The World
It's about time this record after nearly 90 years dropped. I wonder how high the temperature got in the late 1800s ..Record breaking heat and cold is irrelevant, over population is the problem...there is too many of us ...affected by Weather. ?.. -
North American Weather (U.S.A & Canada)
ANYWEATHER replied to Derbyshire_snow's topic in Weather Around The World
I hate record breaking as there as been much lower temps and higher temps over the planet, which never has been recorded, but the temperature in British Columbia is probably due to the Adiabatic effect ....and I'm very surprised that it's taken a lifetime for that to happen...! -

The mid 1850s saw some extreme high temps much higher than now.....but much of North America is rather cool ...atm . -

An undulating jet stream , computer models hate this ,so no weather forecast in the short term or long term will be right.... -

After some pyrotechnics in the next couple of days for south eastern Britain, the change to more of a westerly regime ,in a good old fashioned way looks very likely....I think too many people on here rely too much on computer models... -

To be honest can't really see anything really settled in the ops models....yes some very warm at times for southern Britain but some unsettled weather crushed in between areas of high pressure
