  1. Still coming down fairly heavily here, although small flakes. Looks very picturesque outside, the kind of snow which just sticks to everything. Will go out on my bike in the morning up the road where it's 800ft up, should have started to settle earlier there I would have thought. In which case that's an upgrade!
  2. Now got what I classify as a good covering - no blades of grass are poking through the snow. Still falling but small flakes. Fingers crossed for Saturday.
  3. No dull and cold here, another nice covering of snow! Still not yearning for warm weather, this can continue well into March as far as I'm concerned!
  4. Dec 23rd is a very good comparison actually. Like that one there will probably be a slight thaw overnight and a substantial thaw tomorrow daytime.
  5. As this event nears an end, only one word can sum it up - meh. About a cm of slushy snow covering all surfaces, feel a bit disappointed. Yes it's a covering but nowhere near as good as the powdery snow of January.
  6. Was going to play football up Cannock park tomorrow, think I will give it a miss as I don't fancy playing in an inch of muddy slush! Still coming down a fair bit but should stop fairly soon.
  7. It beggars belief how Birmingham Airport has closed. Don't they believe in grit?!
  8. Dipped below freezing, bucketing it down as well. Shame this won't last too long though or else we could get a real pasting!
  9. Got a fair bit heavier now and starting to settle on the drenched road.
  10. Perhaps because most of us were promised up to 10cm 24 hours ago and ended up with barely 10mm of slush!
  11. Unfortunately it is hard to be optimistic when there is a dusting of slush outside with the precipitation slowly but surely dying and moving away. Although to be honest I shouldn't be too down after the Met Office gave the classic death knell - a 2-5cm warning.
  12. That's another thing, it looks to be one of those "quick thaw" events. Those who have a slight covering shouldn't be surprised to see most of it gone tomorrow morning, the snow is incredibly wet.
  13. There's very little to enjoy for the majority, and even those who have got a covering it is horribly slushy for most!
  14. If it's causing you bother I will gladly take the snow off your hands
  15. I'm sure if you went on the main roads through Cannock Chase there would be a covering, just the height above sea level is making a huge difference.
  16. Altitude difference showing again. Settling readily on the grass here, turning whiter and whiter, the shed roof also has a slushy dusting. As temperatures dip below freezing everywhere should get covered before long.
  17. It's settling! Wahey My pessimism is paying off once again!
  18. Hi Stephen, as I made the counter claim to your theory I am willing to help out in collecting charts and comparing them to real temps.
  19. Things starting to pick up slightly as the temperature plummets. Flakes getting everso slightly bigger and greater in number. Still nothing settling...yet.
  20. Got what can only be described as heavy dandruff here, still very small flakes, similar to what people further south were reporting earlier. Nowhere near intense enough to settle yet.
  21. It was always going to be hit and miss for us unfortunately. But as is the case so many times we have missed out by a hair's breadth. Would prefer it to be a few hundred miles away than a few. Still, plenty more oppurtunities over the coming days!
  22. Snow getting slightly heavier, but still the smallest of small flakes. Hopefully they will beef up a bit later.
