  1. An absolute beast of a shower just skirting to my north, would have liked to seen something exciting.
  2. KW - I tried contacting you via PM but your inbox is full, to put it short somebody has posted a comment on my profile I am not happy with, sorry about this but you are the only mod online!
  3. It was me indeed To be honest, I think for proper cold we are starting to get to the point where we will need a miracle for it to happen, the sun is gaining strength by the day and any snowcover will melt fairly quickly in midday sun. Of course we can get good snow depths until April - 2008 saw my best snow in April, got about 5 inches overnight but all of it pretty much melted in the sun in just one day!
  4. Don't joke about that!! Reading had a foot of snow this winter, Norwich had a dumping...therefore they will get nothing for the next few years!
  5. Well it will be either Reading or Norwich (provided I don't have a complete meltdown in my exams!), two places which are quite snow-prone. So yeah, I will become a jammy south-easterner, no doubt my Midlander aura will get rid of any potential snow though!
  6. Indeed, in a future winter where we are plagued with mild muck we will be referring to these charts and wishing for them to return! Ok they didn't deliver masses of snow, but it stuck around for a very long time and was very cold. Hopefully we will get one last hurrah before March 1st.
  7. Nobody should make any conclusion at all until Sunday. The only conclusion we can draw is that you might as well roll a dice rather than be frustrated by the models at the moment.
  8. See weather09's reply! The Met Office have put us in their advisories to cover all possible outcomes - too uncertain to be specific yet.
  9. I have never understood comments like these, in what way is it pathetic? It was always going to be hit and miss with just a few miles either way making the difference. Just a case of people getting overexcited about a wintry mix - which is all it was going to be for us anyway.
  10. Yup, this winter probably won't be remembered for the depth of cold (although it has been very cold), but more for the total lack of anything mild - a far cry from recent winters.
  11. How can it possibly take this long?! The Feb figure will be in before the Jan one at this rate!
  12. Easing off a bit now, was fun while it lasted!
  13. This has to be amongst the heaviest snow I have ever seen, huge flakes coming down very thick and fast, temp has gone from 0.8c to -0.8c in about 10 mins!
  14. Yeah belting it down here too, due to the water on the hard surfaces it isn't sticking. Topping up everywhere else though.
  15. Had a very heavy but brief snow shower. Left everywhere white, starting to melt in the sun now though, a sign that winter is beginning to fade.
  16. I don't care that I haven't got snow because it is absolutely gorgeous out there today, pretty much unbroken sunshine and cold - if I can't have snow then that will do very nicely indeed.
  17. It does seem strange though how it always takes them an age to announce a low CET. Remember how long it took to announce the 2008 CET? That was ridiculous!
  18. Maximum temps are far lower than predicted as well, widely below 2c when the Met Office predicted 5c.
  19. And it is quite ironic that I absolutely detest heat and humidity...yet I am going to Florida in July!
  20. For me that is the worst part of summer. Having a south facing bedroom it is nigh on impossible to keep it cool on a warm, sunny day - and it doesn't really cool down much overnight either.
  21. Your assumption couldn't be more correct
  22. A repeat of 2007,2008 or 2009 will do very nicely thank you
  23. This is exactly why some people are scared to post on here - they comment on the most likely outcome, then get responses like this. Pathetic.
  24. For the younger members on the forum like myself, this winter will certainly be remembered as historic, simply because we have never seen the wonders of the likes of 78/79. I will certainly remember this winter with fond memories, and hopefully some of those memories are yet to come over the next couple of weks!
