Perhaps it needs to be renamed local warming, rather than global then. I mean, it works both ways right? If we are looking at 'global' temps then that should be everywhere. Which it appears is not the case. Of course, there has been alot said about parts of the NH cooling if things got warmer in other areas. Perhaps this is what we are seeing the start of?

We had over a foot on the ground a couple of times this winter so no complaints there, admittedly when we got the most it was also the same day as the less cold temps so very wet snow and not as good and powdery as last year. The first snow was good quality though. Yes, I can see lots of jobs in the garden that need doing!

So, because they don't understand the natural cycles and because CO2 has gone up, as have temperatures, they saw 2+2 and got 7. That figures. And just how hot is that sun at the moment? We've had many more snow days this winter to last, and certainly more frosts, but one more bite at the cherry would be good! Then we can look forward to some uber warm weather! The sun is due to go through a polar shift in 2012, but then it did the same in 2001 and so on and so forth. Basically, the peak of the suns output in each cycle. Not sure that will make it unbearably hot down here... one can hope I suppose

I think, and we've been through this lots of times now, but work is quiet, that you will find the newspapers (unless you read the gutter trash) generally report the news, not make the news. Well, its only the GFS that goes out that far, the ECM goes to 240hrs and the UKMO to 144hrs (although even that is a slightly suspect timescale) So yes, look for trends over the longer time scale rather that exact synoptics. You have to remember that the models are generally correct in what will happen, but rarely where it will happen. :unsure: noggin: The ABC...is that where the Odeon is on Sidwell St.?
