It certainly looks like a cool and seasonal start to December. I think the fact that every run now is pushing forwards a possible Scandi high theme is a big positive. Certainly enough cold around this year compared to past years. -

I am an impartial bystander in all of this - but I do believe, as a species we should not be polluting the planet whether it causes global warming or not. We are intelligent enough to work with nature and create a future where we achieve our aims without leaving a big impact on the earth and everything else that lives upon her. My one question - if we do reach net zero, what happens if the temperatures continue to keep rising? -

I feel ready for some warmth now. A good seven day cold spell following on from a chilly at times January has been enough of a fill for me. -
No way - it will be coastal location. Either somewhere on the south coast or even the North Wales coast possibly.

Think it worthy of an amber? They issued one for parts of Yorkshire early this morning.

Sounds good for my locale in NE Surrey. Any chance this could mimic what was seen in 09 & 10 in terms of totals - possibly 25cm in some spots?

I am past caring now. Enjoying this spell and will then happily look to spring and hopefully more of a return to a normal life again.

Starting to really build in the estuary now, looks like it will blow through into South London - start of the famous ENE streamer?

Just went out for a walk - saw a couple of polar bears and a few brass monkeys! It is frozen out there, that wind! Snow is in drifts with scoured sheet ice on the rest of the surfaces. Hoping for more snow to cover the ice and provide a walking surface!

In all fairness, it was never showing much potential for Brighton? You will only ever really get hit from a channel low and that has not been in the forecast. If I lived on the South Coast, I wouldn't even bother looking for snow as it is nearly impossible for you guys sadly.

Now at 0c exactly. If we can dip a little under, then hopefully we can start to see a small layer build. Certainly the windiest it has been all winter!

It is not a fair bit, but it does look like an improving situation for east Surrey.

0.1c here now with moderate dandruff. Once we go before 0c then I expect even this will start to stick.

Snow here now - quite heavy given the radar echo which shows only light. Wind is quite something - could be some big drifts in Kent later.

What time are we looking at for this switch Kold? This afternoon? I think the convection will certainly be there, just need to get the angle right. Jeez..... this snow stuff is tough going!
