Autumn not far away on the latter stages of ECM either.Perhaps a final shot at some serious heat before then,but nothing long lasting it’s looking like.

Ukmo has backed away from the extreme heat it was showing on the earlier 00z run,and met not so keen on very hot conditions now.Maybe the gfs and ECM have been nearer the mark this time,with cooler weather than was previous thought to develop.Whatever happens this has been the most exciting year for model watching that I can care to remember.

I’m just intrigued if the U.K. record temp can go,certainly enough heat to tap in.The ukmo seem most keen to bring in the hottest air.Hopefully the other models will follow the ukmo later.

That’s insane heat,our record could go here too if the warm air reaches that far North.Met seem confident of hot to very hot conditions at times over the next few weeks,they have lots of other models too,they use.I don’t think they base their forecasts on just what the GFS and ECM Anomaly charts are showing in the future

Must be looking at a different set of charts if you think that,or perhaps your unable to read the charts properly.Looks like turning hot again as we head into the weekend again,met office seem confident and ukmo been resolute in showing hot weather returning,gfs been struggling again as it always does in block setups.

Reminds me of winter ,missed most of the snow,now missed the storms,which were 8 miles west of my location yesterday late afternoon.!

some of our region have done well,but here ,hardly a drop. trouble with these storms is its always hit and miss.can the folk that have taken videos post them on UT I I love watching them.

gfs stil going for another heat up by end of next week.Maybe the all time record will go then,if it doesn't tomorrow.Little sign of any significant rain again,after the weekend..And next heatwave looks more widespread too..

And when Autumn comes with rain and wind,people be wishing it was summer like this year

Just jump in the sea where you live.Days like these are why I’m glad I live by the Sea.

Be grateful you don’t have to put up with every day for months on end like in some countries.Unlike UK maybe once every decade or so.

Can we have the reverse of this in the upcoming winter please

Does seem only a blip this more unsettled weather.People moaning about it makes me laugh,normally it’s a blip if we get a decent weekend over the summer months.Been spoiled too much this summer.Think of what normal summers are like in the SW,countless holidays their been ruined by the weather.

some thought gfz18z was not a hot run,and even unsettled ?well if uppers over 20c approaching from the South in about 10 days is considered not a hot run then I give up!

Another hot reload seems to be growing in the model output.Slight cooling off for the hottest areas over the weekend,so a little respite for those not liking the very hot weather,then perhaps the hottest part of this amazing summer later on.

but in some countries it hits the 40s for months,the elderly do survive the heat there,dont be over dramatic and say many will die here for goodness sake. I'm sure the vulnerable will know how to best cope with the heat,I mean on the news the met office forecasts ,its constantly rammed down our throats ,not to go outside ,put lots of sun cream on if you do,drink.lots of water,etc.They say it all the time,despite the fact its obvious to most people what you need to do in hot weather to stay healthy for goodness sake,instead of the constant need to be reminded what to do!!

First decent summer in ages ,and all your hear from the press is don’t go outside ,it’s too hot etc.. Really,well I’ve been out enjoying every day ,of this hot weather,is that ok ,or will people be banned from going outside because it’s deemed too hot.This is the U.K. so don’t put it past the government to come out with that statement soon

Over 20c hpa showing in some of the ensemble members,temps over 40c ? If it happened? wow how rare would that be ,something like getting the -20 hpa line in winter I would imagine.Extrodinary this year has been for weather

What an amazing year for weather enthusiasts.First the record cold start to March then another cold spell now this amazing hot spell.It all started with that SSW event in late February. Im so interested in how the winter is going to pan out too later,mega cold,maybe?

long way to go yet till we can be certain what's going to happen by the weekend,the low is going to cause major headache for the models as it interacts with the developing blocking high,fascinating watching how this will pan out.

seen that before with gfs ,blows up a huge dartboard low in the Atlantic when it is struggling to work out what will happen when the low interacts with the huge blocking high over Europe .Gfs decides the low will push the block eastwards but don't worry,because in fl the block will come back and intense heat will push up from Spain.ok we believe you gfs....

what does 16 hpa over parts of SE equate to surface temps ,on that ECM run,most of the country turning hot by the end of next week,with exceptional warm air moving North

sweltering hot weather pushing up in a weeks time or so according to gfs then probably severe storms as low pressure move in.Temps upto mid 30c.amazing,if it verifies
