  1. Veeeeeeeeeery nice! I was having a look yesterday at the Channel Streamer that was pounding the Cotentin Peninsula of Normandy, that then tracked further south and hit you guys. The snow totals must be quite nice in places round there!
  2. Got a little flurry coming down now in Nottingham - looking at the radar we may have had some overnight, explains why there looks to be a little more snow cover about.
  3. This looking good for people: Just one frame of many I could put up!
  4. If you think we've got it bad, check out picture 5 on this slideshow: http://www.lemonde.fr/planete/portfolio/2010/01/08/de-lincoln-a-leipzig-flocons-et-congeres_1288977_3244.html#ens_id=1281707 Now when it gets that bad, THEN it's a cold spell!
  5. Have a look on http://www.raintoday.co.uk/ - there is an absolute queue of showers ready to hit that part of Normandy and The Channel Islands, as there has been all day! I've seen this on the radar and it's been unrelenting!
  6. Yes, but none of them our coming our way, we've seen enough hair snow fall in Nottingham today. Our weather will be coming from Grimsby tonight (again), and nothing seems to want to come from there. It would break up faster than a Las Vegas marriage anyway. While you've got a chance, have a look at the English Channel Streamer! The Cotentin Peninsula has been absolutely pounded by the looks of things!
  7. So do I in a sense, though can't really as I'm revising for exams. Stupid uni, eh! Port and lemonade though? I prefer just Port ! Unlikely tonight - showers seem to want to break up before getting to Nottingham (as usual), however the snow risk should increase over the weekend! We may get a little sprinkling tomorrow, wouldn't like to bet on it though!
  8. Funky Friday? Nutter! Almost sounds like someone's about to hit the town! Unlikely to snow in the Nottingham area again tonight, but watch out for potentially heavy snow on Sunday night!
  9. It was nice and quiet in there with me all on my own, now look what you've done! <_<
  10. I wondered where my snow shield had gone, had trouble finding it!
  11. Yes it most certainly did! Got a good half an inch or so out of it, hopefully more to come on Sunday night! We need more in the hope that exams might be cancelled! A lot of people all ready can't make it back to Nottingham for exams!
  12. We've nicked it! Still snowing in Nottingham, something must be wrong...
  13. The GFS hasn't been nailing a lot lately apart from its own coffin, however given the precip charts I posted earlier, we look good for another haircut snowfall in Nottingham, even Leicester! Should make it to the West Midlands too. Snow pepping up again in Nottingham, this is even better than Monday was!
  14. Been looking at those myself - thinking they'll probably die out before reaching Nottingham given past form, but we can hope, let's wait and see! Snow still falling, sticking to the road, don't know if we've got another inch, maybe. Halfway to Crimson_Sprite's target!
  15. We can say all we like about our streamers, but that was something! The wind direction was perfect for the Channel Streamer to set up, then a more northerly component was added to put the Cotentin Peninsula into the firing line! Would loved to have been there! Are there any French weather forums about? Had a look at Meteociel's forum, but it wasn't that busy.
  16. Snow starting to get lighter here in Nottingham - nice while it was there, I think Crimson Spirit has passed out. Looking to the bands off the Lincolnshire coast now, in desperation more than hope as they are certain to break up at the Nottinghamshire border.
  17. For those interested, the NAE 06Z seems to have called this band very well: 6pm: Midnight: I don't know if I can reply! Snow picking up now, much better out there now than it has been of late! Still not as heavy as I'd like, but it's snow, none the less! Also, looking at the radar, there's a couple of thin shower bands just off the Lincolnshire coast - would probably break up before getting here, but I've got an eye out for them.
  18. Should this band hold up as it traverses the East Midlands (nearly typed Mildlands), then you guys in the West Midlands should all be in business. I think Staffordshire would likely to be more favoured than more southern areas, this wind really has got more of an easterly direction to it. Snow picking up in Nottingham now, for those who don't think this is O/T!
  19. Yes, I've popped into MOD and noticed this. I take it the precip for us lot this weekend has been downgraded? I reckon it might be better in the long run if it's going to undercut the Scandi high and prolong this spell, for the greater good! Really? Are you sure about that...because I see some flakes...
  20. As we're being required to be on topic, anyone fancy having a look at the radar and seeing that band break up as it approaches Nottingham? Mansfield, Chesterfield and Newark are all looking at decent falls right now, with Leicester looking on track too. Weather09 has a point - your posts are good, however, what else can you really post when you've summed it up so neatly anyway?
  21. To be honest, I do like the banter you can have on this thread, but it's banter with a weather related twist. It's how we can laugh at Nottingham, Kettering and Shrewsbury for not having any snow. But there is of course, the banter thread and the chat room for more non weather banter. Still nothing falling, I can't honestly believe this (and neither can my hair).
  22. Does this look like heavy snow to anyone? Though not! It has actually stopped here in NG7, there's a realistic chance that this band could leave us with nothing!
  23. This isn't the heaviest snow shower we've had all day, there's no chance Andy can claim this as a victory! Which hasn't been resolved yet - these showers have to be heavier that the ones earlier!
  24. It's getting a little more substantial, not even the heaviest today so far! Though getting close! That's quite possibly the most traumatic picture I've seen. Ever. :yahoo:
