  1. You know, if there's one thing that makes me feel better about Nottingham not getting any snow, it's that Leicester isn't getting any either! And while C_S can play on her PS3 while waiting for snow, my primary distraction should be revision. Should.
  2. C_S, all the time I've been a student up here I've noticed one thing about Nottingham - it's almost permanently windy, grey and usually a bit nippy on the side. I remember going home in Dec 08, feeling cold in Nottingham. I got out of the car back home and was amazed at how warm it felt! I was close to cracking out t-shirt and shorts! But even the paltry amount of snow Nottingham gets is usually more than back home...except this time. And then there's Mansfield, Newark and Worksop stealing our snow again. I hate this snow shield of mine...
  3. I think I've found the problem: As soon as the snow sees this, it makes sure it doesn't arrive in Nottingham! I had that pic as my avatar originally... If I see another snow shower make it into Leicestershire... Still, I shouldn't really complain about not getting snow, when I'm home in summer I have the awesome weather that the Midlanders don't! It works both ways!
  4. You see that pathetic blob coming ashore between Mablethorpe and Skegness? Yeah, that's on a date with MISSING Nottingham as well. Revolting...
  5. Not the biggest surprise after the email you sent them earlier!
  6. And even I can't resist the oppurtunity to return to my homeland thread from time to time! Keep on trucking, all you South Westerners - you live in a better place than where my uni's to in Nottingham...
  7. How dare you go into MOD? You should know not to go in there unless you say South East England will have 2 foot of snow. Really, AJ, I expected better...
  8. Cheers Paul, chat room's a great idea and I'm really enjoying it! One issue though is every time I leave it or navigate away, Firefox crashes? Is it just me, or have others seen it too? Firefox 3.5 it is. Maybe it's just a hint that I should just stay in there permanently! :)
  9. As we're talking about football matches, AFC Bournemouth (us lot) have had their match called off against Rotherham by Sheffield City Council! I wasn't going to trek up to Rotherham anyway, but it's one less thing to distract me from revision this weekend...
  10. Sounds like my housemate, he does Financial Accounting and Management!
  11. Did I really? Errr... ...I think it was actually an unwanted Christmas present, but nobody wanted to take it off my hands! People these days are so ungrateful, it's a perfectly functional snowshield, I can't think why people don't want it... Because it's finally Nottingham's turn to have some fun!
  12. Are you really surprised that they'll split before Nottingham? That's really about par for the course round here! Still, you never know! Once I find out how to break the NG7 Snow Shield , of course...
  13. Surely automatic membership goes to anyone within a 10 mile radius of Nottingham City Centre!
  14. Can't see many blokes lining up to join that club, can you?
  15. I'm sure this will interest some here: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/programmes/the_daily_politics/8443687.stm I think Andrew Neil is being harsh in parts - yes, the Met Office LRFs haven't been the best lately, but then it's nothing than educated guesses in most parts. Saying they shouldn't get a performance related bonus for getting these wrong is petty, when the short term forecasting is generally very good.
  16. That sounds like a final nail in the coffin for me if it doesn't even get up to Nottingham! Why did I ever leave Dorset again last week?
  17. Oh God, just looked at the Rain Today radar and it really has broken up around Newark! Still, it just goes to show that the snowshield I bought on eBay must work!
  18. Well, looking at the radar, your wish my come true! A shower has managed to not break up on its way from Hull, is now over Newark on Trent - and if Polar Low's post is anything to go by, at least it should be fun!
