  1. What??? You'd be nowhere near the South West! And even if Dorset did have an east coast (as suggested by that map), we are still South Western! And bear in mind, South Westerners are not nearly as obnoxious as those east of the New Forest! I would say cut off everything in a line as you'd say for a country would make me happy (provided I'm south of it), but we'd have to put up with the insufferable South Easterners! Thank God there's a Facebook group for us South Westerners, 4 Counties, 1 Country! And to emulate Mackerel Sky...Lincolnshire is really South East? REALLY? http://en.wikipedia....th_Lincolnshire  It looks like someone HAS seen the Facebook group I mentioned! Ahhh, that would be bliss! No South Easterners, no northerners... We still wouldn't get any snow, so your map still is wrong! EDIT: Your map is still wrong, you've wiped out everything between BH31 and DT11 (east to west) and SP7 to BH19 (north to south), which, last time I checked, were in the South West! Please rectify this immediately!
  2. See, I've been looking at this and I reckon some southern parts of the Midlands are gonna struggle. I'm looking at the bit near Mablethorpe coming our way in Nottingham, and that's where the slight break is.
  3. Well, this winter's certainly shaping up to be the coldest one so far this decade!
  4. Yes, I noticed that - though it's certainly putting off my trip to Sainsbury's in the car, all I want is some chicken, a red pepper and mange tout so probably isn't worth driving through this just for that! Though of course, this is very much the starter before the main course! Even Faraday Road is looking white, even with the cars going over!
  5. I'm expecting the "Cannock sized hairdryer" to be whipped out at any second!
  6. Looking at the http://www.raintoday.co.uk/ radar, looks like any snow is turning to sleet over Leicestershire! Maybe Nick was right about those +5 uppers over Leicester...
  7. I see what you mean, it's really starting to pep up now here in the citteh!
  8. That would be my response even if I wasn't still hanging like I am now...
  9. Yeah, looking lovely in this part of the city! Floaty snowfall is nice!
  10. I think it may have stopped already! Still, we have a "disgusting" of snow...
  11. And just as you say that - it's now started to snow in NG7! Looks very fine flakes. If you think Nottingham's bad for snow, bear in mind where I live when not at uni - just outside of Bournemouth, must be one of the most snowless places...
  12. Looking at the radar, I'm shocked by the audacity of the band of snow not breaking up upon entering Nottinghamshire. I mean really, come on. How dare it. This might mean I see some snowfall here in Nottingham soon, and as we all know, that just isn't on.
  13. Andy - it's been a pleasure having you with us! Don't beat yourself up! You're a good lad really (I'm sure)... I've not had the best year either, in fact I'm quite glad to see the back of it, but I'm gonna keep being Mr Positive! Have a great night tonight and New Year! Oh, it's not snowing in Nottingham. Though I'm gonna have a nice 20 min walk (at least) in the cold to get to this party I'm off to!
  14. Don't diss BH31! This was in April 2008: http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=33180&id=591331836&l=04b69c77e4 - I'm not going to tell you how long the snow stuck around for though... Also, 2 years ago this coming Sunday, snow fell on BH10 as I was taking my driving test! It can snow in that part of the world! Only if the year is 2008...though it did snow this year in Feb... Still diddly squat in Shottingham. Looks like it's time for a glass of port as we enter the final 24 hours of the decade...
  15. That's dead funny! Though I'm sure you'd get the same with NG7 or BH31...(not that it'd be snow in BH31...) And Mum's in PL10! No chance!
  16. I've just had a look at the radar and can't help but laugh! Derby might only be down the road, but the precipitation there is showing no inclination of making its way down the A52!
  17. I have a T-Shirt that says: "LAGER? Do me a FLAVOUR - make mine a Ringwood!" As a member of CAMRA and on the committee of Nottingham University Real Ale Society, that's a no can do! In fact, lager never makes it through the door of this house that often... Why would you drink lager, it's so tasteless! Weather: still cold.
  18. What should I drink to warm myself up? Short of cider within date (the Winkleigh Autumn Mix Scrumpy on the fridge is either off or about 18% by now), I have a choice of: cup of tea/coffee, bottle or can of ale or glass of port. YOU DECIDE! To make this post mildly weather related, it's not snowing in Nottingham (no precipitation) and it's ABSOLUTELY BALTIC!
  19. Didn't you do that yesterday? Point it to Nottingham, I could do with saving my heating bill a little!
  20. Accumulated snowfall for the next 3 days! Looks like some East Midlanders *might* get some, if these graphics (from Snow Forecast) are accurate... If anyone wants a little play with all the other things from here, hit http://www.snow-forecast.com/maps/dynamic/uk and have fun!
  21. You want to check out my bedroom in mid summer! It often gets up to 35 in there on a summer's evening as it's South West facing! Sleeping can be an issue...sometimes. Only if it gets too near to 40... Although I was born in the South East, I hate them and would love to have a female dog about them! Though Easterners are fine (north of Suffolk), I live with 2 (one Norwich, one Grimsby). South Easterners are the bane of my life! I strive to emphasise the differences between us friendly Swesterners and, er, them.
  22. Drive up was fine cheers! Apart from horizontal rain and a slight snow flurry round Oxford, nothing untoward! I'm here safe and the house is frozen, not to mention bitingly cold outside! I never realised quite how mild it was back home! Oh, there's still a bit of lying snow on the banks of the M1 Southbound, just north of Leicester. Something I noticed while in a queue from an accident! You must be vampires as well! The sun never comes out, whereas it's nearly always out back home! You want to try the South Coast Summer Special of 32 degrees and high humidity! A nice day on Bournemouth beach...ahhh! I've even worn a fleece in 30 degree heat! I'm a man, I can take the heat!
