  1. Afternoon, been a breezy (really) day again here, fence looks like it is about to give up the ghost again And just come over very cloudy and dark. In other news it remains "mild" when you look back just short while.
  2. And this post is great why? nothing major as it promotes bad weather and cold.... ...how does this make it a "great run"?
  3. TBH it looks like the later you leave it the better, the patterns all show some (not profound) improvement, and that is dodgy at best.
  4. oh yeah!, you found heaven in snapshot! make it happen....make it happen...
  5. Apart from some recent light falls of snow I must admit not recalling rainfall here, I may have missed it if it did mind. All in all it seems to have been drier this winter, might explain the drought calls already being put out by some water companies.
  6. If I can turn the heating down further (or even off) then any change to milder/warmer conditions (even if wet) is fine by me.
  7. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-derbyshire-22044883 Two landlords trapped in their pubs by snow - one of them for five days - are among Derbyshire traders counting the cost of the Easter blizzard. Areas of the Peak District suffered snow drifts of up to 20ft (6m), blocking roads and buildings. One pub and caravan site estimates it lost £10,000 over Easter because of the weather while another owner had to use a coal shovel to dig himself out. With the weather finally warming, small firms hope life can return to normal.
  8. 7oC here and sunny (woo hoo) Leccy bill arrived today, now down to one storage heater on half power after that "shocker" arrived in the post!
  9. Dreading the morning de-icing of the car again at 06:00, not able to deploy the frost cover due to the wind.
  10. My ideal summer is 18-22oC and sunny spells with the odd T-Storm (doubt it will happen though)
  11. It can be cold and wet or Warmer and wet this time of year, outlook for the next few days in this area is looking cold and dry, silver lining is the high builds and that "butcher" wind may just calm a bit.
  12. Models (and forecasts on TV) all showing the cold lasting longer than expected. Great if you like it cold, bad news if you don't.
  13. Just seen the forecast on Look East, and looking like the cold is set to hang on longer And just in the kitchen making a cuppa and it was snowing again when I looked out. ...bugger!
  14. there are just under a dozen of them near here and they look fine, no issues with them.End of the day you want leccy, then you may need a few of these near by to power your PC, TV, heating etc. no one wants a power station near them, but they all want power, power has to come from somewhere. You are right, may not be fun in a storm though.
  15. HUH?I have seen loads of posts saying both (made some myself, so I know they exist).
  16. First "true" day this year where it has been a pleasure to be outside without being wrapped up like an inuit. Once the wind relented and I was able to bask in the wall to wall blue sky sunshine it became a lovely afternoon here. This winter while "picture postcard" at times was nice has been drawn out some time now. It is a pleasure too to see the plants and tree's finally budding and showing signs of life, the birds visiting the garden are too singing to draw a mate for the spring and no longer silenced by prelonged cold and hunger.
  17. Cannot add more than what has already been said. Been following your views for years, will be greatly missed, good luck in your new job.
  18. Not too bad here when the sun was out, will be glad to see Spring finally get sprung too.
