  1. Also in Rushden and we got a decent fall, much of it fell to the thaw, now freezing I suspect (not been out, too cold)
  2. No charts (Sorry), but short term is looking cold overall, but as many have said the tail end of the week is looking "combative" regards the East West influence, anyone know the outcome? doubt it at even this short time frame. Going forward my gut hunch is the block will hold for the north and east, but the south and west may not, but hey the potential on that forecast front Friday does hold some potential. Guess we will all have to wait till we get model agreement and some closer model data. good fun what!
  3. That is not a temp chart, it is a thickness chart, and the SLP lines show it dragging in air from the SW ish area.
  4. He popped in here, BBC old weather chat (now gone), PW, SW and other forums.
  5. Yesthat Ice is very close to northern Japan now, the people in Monbetsu could soon walk to the north pole at this rate!
  6. What have I done? I can no longer see any details of user posts under their avatar. Things like locale, prefs etc are all missing.
  7. Ahh I believe that site was set up by a user by the name of "thermohaline conveyor" IIRC
  8. http://www.natice.noaa.gov/pub/ims/ims_gif/DATA/cursnow_asiaeurope.gif
  9. Saw that earlier when looking on the 06z and thought then that if that came to be then no one will be going anywhere, other than that the sledge and ski shop
  10. Wish we could help you but my family have already recently taken in an additional "perm loan" horse that has been retired due to age and health. Really is a case of "no room at the inn" now
  11. Been a bit blowy here, and had drizzle/light rain for the last couple of hours.
  12. We have flooding again in this area, Bedfordshire/Northamptonshire, I hear Billing Aquadrome in on evac alert again. Many roads in N,Beds are flooded again, the road from Rushden to Santa Pod is closed, that I do know (just spoken with someone from MK who had to divert round it)
  13. If you want the latest the use the following link ;-) http://www.natice.noaa.gov/pub/ims/ims_gif/DATA/cursnow_asiaeurope.gif
  14. my energy comp has recently ramped up their prices 10% (bleeding robbers!) so I am happy(er) with mild, do not get me wrong, I love winter, just cannot afford it anymore
  15. I may have to wait till the morning to see if it "did" snow, rather than wait up for it, as I have to be up early(ish), but I can hang on a while...
  16. My shed is now telling me it is 0.7C out there, plenty of Frost on cars etc
  17. I was born in WGC and first lived in London Colney (as a wee babe) before family moved a bit further north (not too far), and I remember as a child the lights all went off at midnight on timers in LC. (Was back in BW last weekend too )
  18. Your only 24 miles up from me so if you don't get it then we won't either.
  19. This is my fav thread, and loving the content/comments in it. amazed at the speed of the ice re-build and the snow cover IMHO has been fantastic this year. keep it all coming
  20. *wets finger* (do not ask how), *holds up finger* (def do not ask) Tis gonner be dry here (wet finger not withstanding) 7.4oc, wind coming from the west and cooling later, with chance of showers in 2 day's ( 2 day's I tell ya), some cloud and there may be mist on that round-a-bout near Birmingham (yer been warned).
  21. I have recently heard '63 bandided about as a recent likely similar outcome to the recent weather output we have see across the UK ( and the NH as a whole), what are the chances it is true I wonder? Much as I like most weather (not a fan of wind it just destroys everthing) I would not be too keen on keeping alive in a deep winter in the UK as we just do not have the capacity to cope with it.
