  1. apart from "not thin" I have no answer for you. We had a "flurry" here earlier, now just feels damp and cold out. 3.C and turning misty by the looks of it.
  2. milder and sunny spells here now, wind also dropped and the rain has stopped.
  3. Morning all. Just to confirm what most of you already know, it is cool, windy and rather wet here too. Luckily I do not need to venture out until later this afternoon.
  4. Totally agree too, I have posted in the past about it myself, someone posted "it's a *BAD* run", no reason to explain if it was due to poor data output, not their weather pref, etc. Just that. Reading the technical thread it needs the posters to back up their "revelation" to it being bad IMHO.
  5. Personally I am really wanting it to switch to Spring mode now, my heating bill alone is starting to cripple me, let alone the cold getting my battered joints.
  6. we only grow 20% (or there abouts) of our own food in the UK anyway, so that is a mute point. What would be worse is the lack of imports and/or raids made in them, else adverse weather making the transport of it un-economical anyway, so the cost of food will rise.
  7. Well for me it seemed to be a prolonged cold and dry one, not had the heating on as much as I did this winter for a long time.
  8. Cloudy, dull but dry here, temp is climbing now, did have a patchy frost earlier, all gone now.
  9. Really? so from a model POV the run is poor quality and its output is not correct against other model data and not indicitive of the forecast? or is it just not predicting what you would like to see? two very different views on model output and in this thread, its validitiy rather than its wanted output. *goes back under stone*
  10. looking at the GFS for next week and it looks v.cold for us in the east
  11. good point, well presented and errr, your right, today's warm day was nice and more like it would be nice, thought looking at the latest charts I suspect that will not be the case.
  12. Now there I agree I think, as I seem to recall as a 70's/80's child that the seasons were indeed "seasonal", now they all seem a bit *fudged* What I would not give for some text book seasonal weather (or should that be story book?)
  13. I do not mind it cold and I like to see the snow for a few days down, take a few pictures and all, but then I am happy done and ready to get back to 'normal' again.
  14. My day will come ( I hope) and spring will errrr 'spring'. Not sure our dirt tracks, sorry, 'roads', can last much more of this weather round here.
