  1. Unfortunately I'm in Glasgow at uni at the moment so the Highland Council have escaped my fury
  2. Looking like the possibility of snow for you in Sneck tomorrow morning, probably going to be quite prolonged and heavy at times. We all know how much Inbhir Nis loves its NE winds P.S, looking forward to that road that you will eventually get connecting you to Slacbuie?
  3. Looking quite good for the sneachd in Inbhir Nis the night, 1'C with a dewpoint of -1'C I see
  4. On a possitive note it's been a brilliant season for skiing, so a boost for the economy. It's not too far away if you'd like your snow fix, like I was saying in a previous post I was at Loch Katrine and many of the lochan are still frozen (Lochan are small lochs for anyone that doesn't know)
  5. Aye happy birthday Blizten, hope you have a good one mate Went for a nice cycle in the far south of the Highlands, Loch Katrine and the top of Loch Lomond on Saturday, we got very good weather for it and Beinn Lomond was looking fantastic
  6. No she isn't, just a voice of reason. Pete and Ross are our moderachean albanaich
  7. I think it's just that Scotland is more northern. In saying that, parts of Inverness are over 200m and are well inland, these areas saw close to 2ft of snow.
  8. It is a different ballgame in Scotland without a doubt, being a lot more vulnerable to northern winds and the like. Aberdeen and Inverness in particular often get lying snow in March and it is not particularly fascinating to see snow in April.
  9. Oh boke!!! I don't blame you. I found a photo the other day about 8 months before I was born and my mum was at a party DRINKING :( WHISKY :good: because she didn't even know that she was pregnant! No wonder the doctors think i might have drain bamage
  10. Aye, mine is in a month. Clearly the Scots are very busy during May and June
  11. They're not representative of the conditions for the majority of the population centres, they're just pictures of villages in the Cairngorms. As has already been mentioned, Inverness (which is the main population cluster in the Highlands) saw over a foot. The heavy snow of Hogmanay 09 will be remembered for a while I think. Farr, outside Inverness, saw over 3ft apparently.
  12. The insane snow fest northerlies show in FI recently really are hilarious, would be amazing if they were to happen.
  13. Couldn't tell you, I wasn't even 1 / wasn't born for those events!
  14. Certainly is possible aye, although I don't think very likely for long. Has there been a period of prolonged lowland snow when it's been mainly dry in the Highlands? This is for long term mind, I wouldn't mind a couple of days of heavy snow followed by HP and then a snow break down. Inverness does seem to love its freezing fog like nowhere else though.
  15. I actually really want HP to dominate, think freezing fog and freezing temperatures is a great alternative to heavy snow, which as a country we really can't cope with at the moment.
  16. There are quite a few Gaels in this thread. Terrible joke, I know.
  17. I am guilty of adding fuel to that fire, I'll be honest. The reality of it is that Scotland and the Highlands in particular will always get a lot more snow during winter, so you can't fault them for getting a bit annoyed when we're like "Uh-uh, we're going to get more and you know it".
  18. Looking like snow showers as early as Monday but mainly in NE England and E Scotland. A little more patchy in the south.
  19. Aye, given the population change I guess it will be harder for Edinburgh, Inverness and Aberdeen (they've grown, especially the wee Highland town of sneck ) to beat their records but easier for Glasgow and Dundee (which have become slightly smaller). Of course, things aren't so clear cut and I don't think it would make a huge amount of difference anyway, so long as conditions are ideal.
  20. I am loving this winter, but where are the record lows for the cities? Granted such lows are always rogues and you can't tell when they'll occur (sometimes outwith the 'big freezes') but what we really need now to completely immortalise this winter is at least one of the Sneck, Deen, Auld Reekie, The Go or the Dee to beat their record lows!
  21. And Fife, Aberdeenshire, Moray, Invernesshire, Caithness, Orkney and East Yorks etc. Excellent as you're input is TEITS, it would be great if sometimes members such as yourself would give parts away from the SE of England a bit of a mention as proper discussion on such areas can be few and far between outwith the regional threads.
  22. Doesn't between that 70s (78 I think...) blizzard in the Highlands Snow White!
  23. Some wee villages from the Cairngorms: Tomintoul: Glenlivet: Carrbridge: Nethy Bridge:
