  1. This. It's all well and good telling people to calm down but with no sign of this cloud clearing and more coming up from the continent, there's really not much reason to be optimistic. It happens literally every time
  2. Going by the meto update then it looks like it will be a South East event even though until now it's been progged as a south west event lol. Should've known better
  3. Blehhhh moderate rainfall here now. Another autumn day to go with this cack spring/summer so far. At least there's no howling wind
  4. Grey and drizzly here, pretty uninspiring, though Plenty of time yet and I want the storms to hold off until late afternoon
  5. Speak for yourself:p Ive heard one rumble this year from a squally april shower. Seriously though, good luck one and all, I hope everyone gets their fix:)
  6. this is starting to look interesting. Must. Not. Get. Hopes. Up.
  7. For the past few years i've dreamed of being stood in my spot, which overlooks the town with an uninterupted view to the south and capturing a monster gust-front on camera. Could Friday be the day?
  8. Thanks for the replies chaps! I would love to haha unfortunately I have a massive phobia of flying which I am tackling head on in August when I fly into Nice. If the storms deliver here in England on thurs/fri I wont mind too much (unless of course Bruges gets a monster supercell) and im sure saturday will be a pleasant day out if anything else
  9. Friday afternoon would be perfecttttttttttttttt as I am off work:D
  10. ahhh Belgium to get a hammering the day before I go there. Classic me timing.
  11. blehhhh looks like we should've gone a day earlier:/ Friday looks like a decent day
  12. Sea temps have nothing to do with it as storms/imports in a plume situation are often elevated above the boundary layer
  13. Have to agree with most. In my opinion, the weather down here has been absolute garbage apart from the odd decent day here and there. I absolutely pity those who live up north, I don't think I could tolerate endless days of 12 degrees and overcast in May/June. I've only managed to go into work once so far this year without wearing my winter coat in the morning (Friday just gone) and I can't believe the summer solstice is just two weeks away and we are looking at temps being close to freezing overnight:/ The wind has been another issue. It's been constantly breezy which has made it feel even cooler. I wouldn't be so bothered about the 17-18 degrees if there wasn't a biting wind all the time. Absolutely cannot wait to sod off to France later in the year and hopefully get at least one week of actual summer
  14. gonna give this one a miss unfortunately. No way I stay up all night and go to work in the morning:( I will however set my gopro up in the garden overnight and film a timelapse. Views arent great but hey, better than nothing
  15. Hi guys, didnt really know where to put this, i'm just looking for some advice and insight from some of the experts on here:) a few friends and I are heading over the channel next saturday to France and Belgium (Brugge) and would just like to know about the storm potential on hte near continent as the timeframe draws closer. We arent booking the tunnel until the day before, so if the potential looks good, we will book a later train back so we can stay out there most of the night. If it doesnt look good, it doesnt matter, we will still have a lovely day out and just book a train back at a more respectable hour:) Any advice, charts, insight would be massively appreciated guys:)
  16. patches of Accas visible to my south on the way to work. Things looking good for tonight. Shame I will be asleep haha but to all you lucky lot staying up to watch and those in the south east tomorrow afternoon, ENJOY! TAKE LOTS OF PICS AND VIDEO PLEASEEEE
  17. hahaha i feel you bro! I already pre-warned my girlfriend a few days back in the event of there being a storm. I put her on tripod-carrying duty. She really doesn't share my enthusiasm for weather:p
  18. Booooooo this plume sucks:p Kidding, but seriously I was hoping for the main event to be friday night, not thursday night/friday morning when I'm either asleep or at work:( ahhh well, fingers crossed for storms over on the continent next weekend when I venture over to France and Belgium
  19. goodness I hope those charts verify even just a little. We've earmarked that time-period to head over to France/Belgium in the hope of seeing some action:D
  20. managed a short timelapse. My bloody camera turned away from the tasty action in the wind:/ not happy! still kinda cool though
  21. First cumulonimbus of the year here, although a feeble attempt, slinking off into the distance
  22. I think its been incredibly benign. The odd nice day here and there, but some days more reminiscent of late November.
