it normally does miss us jtay,as the dry borders,hanging baskets,tubs and troughs will testify lol

Lack of rain now really problematic for gardening work,however days in the low 70s are to be cherished.Next week might mean some early starts and early finishes temps in the 80s do give me trouble.

ah well,the rain didn't quite manage to cover the roads,about half an hour then out popped the sun,not sure if that's it or more to come.

Ironic,after bleating on about needing rain for weeks now to help my customers gardens to flourish,im off,for the first time to the New Forest show tomorrow,after 25 years down here,the forecast it seems to be for .............lol,ironic indeed.

thanks for the info,being selfish also the rivers are in a mess too,late evening fishing only,however the Avon is awash with fish farm escapee trout at the moment,a total disgrace..........sorry minor non weather related rant lol

I don't keep records,but this month is slowly becoming a problem for me as a gardener,i cant recall much rainfall at all much,a nightmare scenario for hanging baskets and tubs.No matter how often you tell folk to water every day,just a passing light shower gets the response,didnt water as we have had rain,the wilting foliage should be enough of a clue .....but no.

Bit weird actually,forecast of very heavy rain yesterday and today didn't really materialise,yes I know localised means just that.However seeing Mr Pantz comment about a microclimate its got me thinking.For years now so much precipitation,be it rain or snow,rarely either arrives at all,or if it does,not in the quantity.So with Salisbury Plain to the north of me,possibly some input of South Downs to the east of me,just wonder if microclimate might also be an issue here.Perhaps ive been unfair shaking my fist at the South Today forecasters after all lol.Thoughts anyone.

Must be so localised im south of Salisbury by 10 miles and very little rain to interrupt my gardening work today,sky quite bright at the moment.

Yes im a gardener and heavily watered my local pub garden today fed up with the rain missing us,sods law if there is a downpour now,tomorrow doing the pub garden at Oddstock,new owners,so they are expecting a good floral show,so rain would help.

As my gardening work starts in earnest,looking for frost free,a drop of rain to water in the lawn sand and some sunshine to help things along,not too much to ask is it lol....oh and this horrendous non stop cough to bugger off.

Thanks for the reply....localised indeed as you are about 4 miles from me,looks like a decent fall so no didn't have that here,this Winter nearest to a snowflake seen was splodges on a bus windscreen of sleet on birthday break in Somerset in Feb lol....the wait appears to continue #

OK localised one for you jtay and mr singularity,i live quite near to both of you and ask this....last winter didn't see a snowflake at all,ditto this year,you are slightly higher than me but not much,am I correct in this assumption

Well,having waited 65 years to go through a Winter season not seeing a single snowflake last year,something I thought would never,ever happen,its happened for a second consecutive year,where we go from here im not too sure lol
