  1. @Chris.R I’ve just had a delivery to Dutton. A good few miles from the Mersey and still snowflakes even there. I think we are literally just inside of the 0C iso
  2. I’m more referring to the Welsh warning which started an hour ago for significant snowfall. Unless things change later, it’s egg on face. They have all of their timings wrong too I feel. Heavy snow once more here.
  3. No wonder they lost the BBC contract. People on this forum do a better job at issuing warnings than they do
  4. Yep it’s really wet snow. It bodes well for better timing later when the cold undercuts once more
  5. Rain has just turned to ice pellets and the largest flakes of the day
  6. Experience tells you that events like this always go this way. It’s a crazy little region we live in
  7. Sun trying it’s best here too. The rain continues to fall. As Chris said, way earlier than expected. Egg on face for the Met? Again?
  8. Jokes aside, a midday temperature of 1C is impressive for this location in March.
  9. Think the Met need to shift those warnings. N. Wales amber warning period has begun, and there’s no PPN! He just gets a little upset when Buxton gets less than 16 inches of snow cmon @Kasim Awan it’s all to play for at your location!
  10. Oh dear. Well the snow has eased in intensity, and as it has done so, it’s actually mixed with rain & ice pellets. Front is now moving away. I thought it would’ve stalled & pivoted.
  11. There is that all charts are unfavourable of snow after 3pm ish in my opinion. We’ll see though. This is the ‘mighty north west’ our weather can defy all variables
  12. I dunno- text forecast, warning analysis & automated forecasts all favour something more ‘wet’ of nature falling. We’re dangerously close to a +’itive isotherm also. Experience of the area tells me it’ll turn Heaviest snow of the day now falling. I’d say we have till 3pm before we have a break
  13. Will go either way from here on mate. It’ll either intensity further as more moisture is injected from mixing out of colder air, or it’ll turn to rain. Option 1 would probably bank us a decent covering. I’m favouring option 2 though unfortunately.
  14. Seems to have stepped up a gear. It’s settling on the paths now.
  15. Just been up to the highest point in Runcorn, 100m. No problems with settling snow here. An easy 2 inches have settled. looks like we all missed out/are missing out by just a few meters. 0.0C
  16. Yeah it’s coming down again now. Flakes are still tiny until more moisture is introduced later. But as that’s introduced, it becomes more marginal. Can’t see us getting more than a dusting on grass & other favourable surfaces. 200m+ event I think.
  17. Disappointment written all over this event isn’t there. Flakes are tiny now, lost all the intensity, still isn’t sticking properly. Temp on the rise. 1.1C
  18. Definitely. A shame really. There’s always something in the NW to scupper the chances! If we can hold onto the snow until later. The Met are confident that anything after 2pm will be rain!
  19. It’s really struggling to settle here despite the temperature being at 0C. We need some bigger flakes to lay down a surface layer. Air is too bloody dry
  20. It’s game over for Wales. We all know too well when the Met puts a warning out it’s always the opposite of what will actually happen
  21. Amber warning from the Met for North Wales now. Nothing for us though.
  22. It’s trying ever so hard. 0.9C and struggling to settle. Only on favourable surfaces
