  1. Air feels especially bitter this morning. The coldest feeling air of the spell.
  2. -5.2C here after a low of -7.5C. I’m gonna miss the excitement of checking the minimum in the morning. But my bank isn’t gonna miss the heating being on all day.
  3. So todays low: -8.8C todays high: -0.6C current: -2.2C. -10 tonight?
  4. -8.8C was the minimum. Crazy stuff. Currently -4.1C which in itself is crazy cold for an hour from solar noon!!!!
  5. Winds have switched, coming off the sea so milder air is mixing the cold surface temps out I suppose
  6. Despite it still being below freezing, the sun is having absolutely no trouble melting the snow and ice. Probably for the best now anyway, roads and paths are lethal
  7. Yeah these were my thoughts too this morning. Widespread -15C, records would be broke I reckon
  8. -7.0C. Minimum was -7.1C, and that’s the coldest temp I’ve recorded since December 2010.
  9. -5.4C and still falling alarmingly fast. Excited to see what the minimum is in the morning.
  10. Same here, just a fraction from -3C. Don’t think I’ve ever seen it fall this fast
  11. Clear skies. Temp fell like a stone. -0.6C. Gonna be -5/-6 tonight easily.
  12. Met Office now bring the clear skies forward to 3pm. I just can’t see it, large band of cloud pushing northwards. It’s been so poorly reliable this cold spell.
  13. 1.1C. I’m failing to see where tonight’s clear skies are coming from looking at the satellite. Met Office have two cloudless days after today, just can’t see it…
  14. To get accurate readings you need a Stevenson Screen. Otherwise they’re always going to be slightly skewed in any weather really. Rain will cool it down, so will snow, sun will warm it up
