A game of chase the sun yesterday. Something I shouldn’t really have to play in July. But regardless, we made our way to a lovely nature reserve in N. Wales. Temps held steady around 17-18C all day, which really surprised me considering the sun was out all afternoon. Really must’ve been some cold air aloft. Sun stayed out all evening too as we enjoyed a chippy near the sea.
Today the opposite, a sunnier start followed by yet ANOTHER cloudy day. How many cloudy days does this summer want to produce? This is turning into one of the most depressing summers I can remember. Temps struggling to reach 20C during the day, nighttime temps bottoming out around 10C, it’s a joke. It’s just like autumn is stuck on repeat. It bloody looks like autumn out there anyway thanks to that stupid heatwave that’s killed half the trees. Loads of smaller trees are bare, most of the bigger ones are yellow, conker trees all dead.
This summer needs to just be over now, the charts look fantastic for an autumnal august in our part of the world. And then we’re plunged straight into real autumn in September. No doubt more of the same. Cloudy and 2C below average.
Some pics of yesterday below anyway. Luckily 20 years of weather enthusiasm means I’ve gained enough knowledge to be able to reasonably forecast where the cloud might not be (Sat24)
