  1. Yeah as mentioned in my post a couple of days ago. It’s been one of the worst summers I can ever remember because of the cloud. I haven’t seen the sun now in about 3-4 days.
  2. Think it’s wishful thinking that this skidmark of a summer will produce anything else remotely interesting!
  3. A game of chase the sun yesterday. Something I shouldn’t really have to play in July. But regardless, we made our way to a lovely nature reserve in N. Wales. Temps held steady around 17-18C all day, which really surprised me considering the sun was out all afternoon. Really must’ve been some cold air aloft. Sun stayed out all evening too as we enjoyed a chippy near the sea. Today the opposite, a sunnier start followed by yet ANOTHER cloudy day. How many cloudy days does this summer want to produce? This is turning into one of the most depressing summers I can remember. Temps struggling to reach 20C during the day, nighttime temps bottoming out around 10C, it’s a joke. It’s just like autumn is stuck on repeat. It bloody looks like autumn out there anyway thanks to that stupid heatwave that’s killed half the trees. Loads of smaller trees are bare, most of the bigger ones are yellow, conker trees all dead. This summer needs to just be over now, the charts look fantastic for an autumnal august in our part of the world. And then we’re plunged straight into real autumn in September. No doubt more of the same. Cloudy and 2C below average. Some pics of yesterday below anyway. Luckily 20 years of weather enthusiasm means I’ve gained enough knowledge to be able to reasonably forecast where the cloud might not be (Sat24)
  4. This has to be one of the dullest summers of all time. Never known so many cloudy days. No cloudless ones.
  5. Yep as others have said, a horrible day, temps are only around 14C but it’s much needed for the plans and wildlife this rain. Hasn’t stopped all day. Grass is still brown and sad though!
  6. Has anyone else noticed all of the smaller trees has gone brown, yellow and resemble autumn? They’re also losing leaves, what’s going on? I get that it was hot, but I really don’t want to be seeing signs of autumn in the middle of July!! 20C today. Much more comfortable
  7. Going back up now. 34.0C. Mad. Met Office latest research video says we can expect heat like this once every three years. I’m confident we’ll have another spell similar to this in August. All it takes is one more push from the sweltering south
  8. That’s it mate. Game over 36.6C. Falling! The winds of change have arrived. Breezy!
  9. Wondering if tomorrows temps of sub-20C for much of the region could be wrong. with all the heat being pumped into the surroundings, wonder if that could potentially boost the temps artificially. Weird theory
  10. With that increase rate, 40 will be just about scraped by time the colder air filters in
  11. In a way it’s a shame from an extreme perspective that the cold front couldn’t of just hung fire till 6pm. Most of the region would’ve seen 40C
  12. Cooler air approaching Rhyl now. I think another 30 mins and Hawarden will begin to cool
  13. And in my kitchen due to my fly swatter! hate the thought of everything else struggling though.
  14. Folks. Worth mentioning. The wildlife is really struggling. if you get a minute, put some water out in the front and back gardens. I managed to attract about 200 honey bees yesterday to come for a drink. It was a remarkable sight.
  15. And it isn’t slowing. It’s pushing through these temperature gradients like it’s nothing. It’s more akin from being 15C and cloudy to 20C and sunny once the cloud has cleared!
  16. It’s over S Wales. Angled weird. I’d estimate it won’t arrive till gone 4pm now.
