Weather station is on the brink of death I think. Keeps going off. It says 1.0C was the temp this morning, though it felt way colder and everywhere is frozen solid. Below the forecasted temp either way. Can’t see much in the way of snow this week here, but we’ll see. Looks sunny & cold for the majority. Lovely, seasonal weather.

Yep, another super mild one today. Will check the temp later on. Sunday looks like being the sunnier day of the weekend with tomorrow forecast to be cloudy throughout. I am looking forward to some colder weather, despite the prospect of having to put the heating on. We had it on 3 times for a couple of hours, just to dry some clothes. £16 in gas it cost!

A lovely start to the day. The promise of blue skies & sunshine today has been replaced with a forecast of sunny intervals and scattered showers. A little disheartening, hopefully it’s incorrect. I also see that our ‘sunny high’ has turned into a cloudy one. Although, we are forecast a very unseasonable 17/18C on Friday, truly exceptional for November. Though, the record is still 22.4C set back in 2015. That’ll go in the next few years I think.

Agree with others. Yesterday just didn’t seem to get properly light. Was weird. A true late-Autumn’s day come early. Can see us having a super mild winter to be honest. Despite some positive looking background signals (that are always there). Last winter was completely snowless here, I’m expecting the same again.

Morning all. 10.7C, smashing it down with rain and a horrible feel. So far below average. Surely we can squeeze one more week of sunshine out of this year! Tomorrow will be a classic autumnal day, albeit more akin to late October. Plenty of sunshine, temps below average and a biting NW’erly wind. Looking forward to that one!

Morning all. A very cool start to the day. This September hasn’t half been below average. Temperature wise and sunshine-wise too. Wonder if we have already had the last 20C of the year? I was confident for another warm/hot spell this September, some of which were being modelled for around this week I believe it was. That failed to materialise, but there’s still a good deal of hot air around Europe until mid-October, so I’m holding out for just one more blast to make the autumn-winter season seem that little bit shorter.

Morning all! Been absent from the forum for a while. Just been in Spain (near Alicante) for the last 9 days. And unbelievably, the weather wasn’t great. I didn’t have one cloudless day. Every single day featured some cloud, with the sun often going behind the clouds for a decent period of time. No true blue sky to be seen. We had 5 days where it rained at least once. And one day where it absolutely belted it down for hours. We had two thunderstorms over two different days. Very little lightning, mostly thunder, but we did have the lightning too. Where it did rain, the humidity absolutely sky rocketed and it felt horrid, usually clearing by morning though; thankfully. Temps during the day never failed to hit 30C, one day did reach 36C. But I’m very disappointed with the weather for the time of year! The forecast was wrong daily.

Rain all but missed here, we had just enough to water the garden, but still nothing noteworthy. I’m really starting to notice the nights drawing in now; it’s dark before 9pm, and the light really starts to fade around the 8:30pm mark. We’re stuck in the classic mid-August rut whereby the temperature is always around 20C during the day, but it’s often cloudy. On the horizon, it looks like we’ll get one, maybe two last blasts of summer before meteorological autumn arrives. The nature of these ‘rinse and repeat’ heatwave cycles leaves me to believe we’re in for a very warm and dry September. I am starting to look forward to autumn now though. There was a real ‘nip’ to the breeze this morning and I really start to lose interest in summer at this time of year. Sun isn’t really strong enough to tan, we lose so much light at an alarming rate, there’s no storms, ever. And this year there’s too much humidity, lol. Either way, I’m going to Spain on Monday. So I’ll be enjoying 9 days of summer down there. UV index of 9, long sunny days and plenty of beer.

We hit 33.5C here. Absolutely remarkable. The sun has just this minute gone behind a cloud for the first time in what, 4 days? Stunning weather, 30C has been achieved 4 days in a row which is fantastic. So nice to just see a pure blue sky with nothing ruining it. Pressure was so high that even airplane contrails were squashed. Hopefully more to come before autumn sets in. Oh, PS- my living room is lovely and cool thanks to the AC Unit I bought before the mega July heatwave

A warm day yesterday, when that sun came out, the temp absolutely rocketed up to 25C. There was a warm breeze, lovely stuff. A bright start today, with sunny intervals. August is shaping up to be a fantastic month as per the models, with a lot of sunshine and warm temperatures in the NW, this will easily be the best summer month. Just a shame now that the sun has lost a lot of its strength. Today’s sun strength is equal to May 10th, so by mid-august, the sun is only as strong as it is in April, but it often feels warmer. August is statistically the warmest summer month due to the thermal lag effect of the atmosphere. We are long overdue a warm and sunny august, I often discount august as a summer month, but it looks like this year may buckle that trend, thankfully.
