  1. Usual festive weather here in Ayrshire 11c windy and miserable. For Xmas day we will see double digits again..... Horrid !! Ach well the kings eleven won n beers n bubbly in fridge !! Merry Xmas !!
  2. Well we may get dble figures here on Xmas day...most unwanted. Default Xmas weather for here.
  3. Think the media (BBC) had been mentioning potential stong winds with a mean of upto 50mph and gusts to 80mph since Mon / Tues and it certainly linked the met office warning to their forecasts. No real excuse for getting caught out..Mrs says it's a tad windy in Ayrshire but nothing out of the norm and here in coastal Essex just a stiff breeze. I delayed my drive back to Ayrshire till tomorrow and instead of today as it would involve driving thru some very exposed areas.
  4. Snowflake generation... honestly ! Think this has been managed well no need for a red warning or even an amber.
  5. Don't really see anything more than normal winter fayre..met office have issued yellow warnings and enough has been covered by the media. If any one doesn't know there's a bit of wind inbound they must be daft. My 87 yr old parent s who I am currently visiting in Essex have mentioned it even though they are far from the warning areas
  6. Hawsey...your right could be a lot worse at least we hopefully will not see double digits and a gale force south westerly ! Xmas day as you say may feel slightly seasonal
  7. Well can now safely call it a mild Xmas.... Nothing unusual there. Always something scuppers a seasonal Xmas....
  8. I think we all are deflated and the thought of another wet windy mildish Xmas is just a thought to far. However the models have flip flipping over the last few days..hopefully a positive change to come
  9. Charts have gone from cold to average or above for the festive period . Thur / Fri needs to be watched regarding storm potential. I still not calling it till late Monday for the festive weather .... There has been too many scenarios thrown up over the last few days.
  10. Friday onwards is certainly not without interest ! Subtle changes could make it epic or an epic fail if it's a winter wonderland you are looking for.. I have so far managed to keep ma big gub shut at work and to family..with regard to a white Xmas.
  11. Fascinating output over the last 48hrs...nothing points towards a defined outcome post 120 hrs. Will need to wait till Monday or Tuesday to get a grip of weather for 22nd onwards
  12. It's very easy to get carried away with each model run...and there a few in the mad house that like to bait others. Fun viewing tho
  13. Yes all change from yesterday..no 22nd Dec winter storm and Azores high coming more into play giving a more westerly flow, as it always seems to happen. But we have seen the models chop and change so personally not calling it a mild Xmas till after viewing models on Monday.
  14. Well certainly looks like a very mild few days ahead before things turn more seasonal.....how it unfolds is till up for grabs and I would suggest we will need to wait after the weekend to get a firm hand on festive weather. I will be driving home on the 22nd from Essex...that could be an adventure looking at some other f the outputs. Merry Xmas !
  15. Certainly not buying into the Atlantic all the way thru December brigade..just dont see where the energy is coming from.
  16. Couple of inches here in Irvine..v surprised as the earlier snow was wiped out by rain....prob going to be very treacherous. Still snowing
  17. You may get another few hours out of that . Is this a poor winter as you can remember ?
  18. Well a very mild day....ready for spring now. Has been a very poor winter for snow over much of the country out with the Highlands n North East. Just seems impossible to get lying snow around these parts. So roll on spring n summer and those days of 25c temperatures.
