  1. Not ideal weather for shed roof repairing but it’s done now and what bit of snow I had has now pretty much disappeared but as others have said, not bad for October and certainly a complete opposite for the warm conditions of last year.

anyway we’re off to Liverpool for a long weekend shortly so hopefully tomorrow’s North Eastely can bring some cold sunny conditions to be out and about in.

Just let the dogs out and there was a flurry of something and it wasn’t rain. Showing snow on the radar

Snowing lightly here and settling on the decking so it must be due on your side of the valley.

I don’t keep records but it’s the earliest first snow I can remember for quite a few years and after yesterday’s sunshine certainly a surprise.

Just typical though as I wanted a bit of dry and warmth to sort my shed roof out but it still needs going.

Should of been a weather warning out today for the gusts here or maybe they were and i haven't just seen it

There should have been a warning in our house over the weekend although I felt like crying at times for the wrong reasons. It’s a long while since I felt so much stomach pain but on the mend again now.

meanwhile back to the weather, today’s wind has stripped most of the leaves up here along with a sizeable chunk of the roofing felt off our summer house so that’s another job to add to the increasing list.

at least this weekends colder spell should mean that my last grass cut of the season has already happened, unlike last year when for the first time ever, I cut it in November.

  4. After a misty coolish start it’s turned into a decent days weather up here and certainly better than the BBC forecast which showed plenty of cloud over the region.

its just a shame that i’ve come down with a bout of something dodgy otherwise a few hours out walking on the tops would have been worth the effort.

You timed your return well... we had deluges of rain the previous two days and only a few days ago the GFS was hinting at a stormy wet Sunday today but thankfully we've struck lucky as the worst of the wet weather is further south.... we shouldn't even get too many of those showers in the west reaching eastern areas of the region today, so all in a good Sunday in store...and a quiet week ahead.

Yep a bit cold outside first thing this morning but a beautiful day now.

  6. After two weeks of temperatures pushing 40c, high humidity and dodging biblical showers, it was nice to get back from Florida to conditions where a good brisk walk this morning was actually enjoyable.

it felt bloody cold sat in the house last night though although the American obsession with fully cranked up air conditioning  gets you used to it.

    Autumnal????

Yeah but nice and warm in the sun.

TBH i’m glad to see the back of August which after such a good early summer turned into a disappointing month in these parts.

i quite like September which often delivers decent weather but with that autumn feel of darker evenings and a chill in the air although this year much of it will spent in Florida where no doubt conditions will be much hotter and possibly wetter.

I thought this was our usual summer weather!? Not that bothered about this weather personally as it doesn't stop me doing anything. I'm not wishing a return to the heat, but equally, weather like we had last Saturday would be just fine for me, and probably decent enough for most I would have thought.

Yeah i’m Not after the heat back, the sunshine and an autumn feel to the days will suit me fine.
