Ian,
thought your yellow blob was going to slide to the north of Rammy (well Summerseat to be exact), but no, full on heavy blowing snow again!
Still a full on blizzard here, a lot worse IMBY than little beast’s big brother at the beginning of the month.

The "snow starved south East" getting burried!!!
Never mind, at least there should be enough film now for a full series of channel 5 documentary’s about severe British weather which show nothing north of the M4

I'm going to enjoy a 4 pack of strongbow in a bit
Don’t blame you.
i was going to walk up to the pub, 200 yards at the most but looking outside it’s a stopping in night.

If Met. O warnings are put out for impacts then looking at the cars struggling up the main road outside our house and the snow still piling up, I think we should have been in the Amber zone after all.
probably only a couple of inches deep but it’s still very gusty and well below freezing so definitely a stopping in with a bottle of red sort of night.

Some pretty bright colours showing in that line of showers and they are still piling in of the North Sea.
-
After a brief lull it’s back to white out conditions here again now.
-
I don’t think a can ever remember seeing snow as heavy as we’re having here at the moment.
visibility is probably less than 50 metres and in less than 10 minutes it’s put over an inch down.
pretty amazing really and plenty more showers lining up across to the east.

At least I can join you now in safety.
Yeah it looks pretty certain we’ll be playing each other in the EPL again next year.

Reminds me of the days when I used to watch MoTD just to see some snow. Sad innit!
Reminds me of the days when we had to watch MOTD just to see football.

I had taken the dogs in the field and could see it coming down the hill towards me so dragged them back inside quick!!
Back to a blizzard again now.

Very heavy here now, blizzard conditions in the wind. Size of flakes have increased. Showers heading for us seem heavier and closer together and with the sun now going down this might get a chance to cover a little.
Glad I was back in the house before that last one came through, heaviest of the day and with temperatures already at -3c should stick along with anything that falls from now on.
-
Met O have me down for 11 hours of heavy snow from 5pm but unless there’s a major change in position and direction of the shower bands I can’t see where it’s going to come from.

Showers aligned to miss my location but it looks brill for the peak district..
Yep it looks like everything is gradually heading south and although the current amber warning zone seems like a good call for later, i’m expecting the yellow area to be removed from myself and anything north and northwest of here.
at the moment though the met office app has me down for heavy snow from 5 ish right through until tomorrow morning so until that changes i’d Imagine nothing is set in stone.

Massive gap in the showers stretching right across the country with my location just at the southerly point so unless something changes with the entry point of what’s leaving the North Sea it looks like a cold but dry afternoon of outside jobs for me coming up.

Its the angle at the moment, there seems to be a very slight North Easterly component, if it would have been direct E'ly, based on the entry point over humber, we would have been getting all these that are going South.
The first rule of Sod’s law is that everything which will give Landan and the sarf east the lions share of interesting weather will occur.

You must be in the sweet spot Ian.
Lots of blue sky and sunshine here.
( occasional light snow but not even sticking to pavements)
Maybe, we missed the heaviest of the showers last time around, certainly compared to yourselves and down into the Peaks so possibly we will be favoured today.
its certainly coming down heavy at the moment.

-1.5c, a gale force wind and blowing snow.
says something about this winter that we’ve waited almost 5 years for anything approaching blizzard conditions and then we get two serious attempts at it in the same month.
its still a hell of a long way to go to beat the conditions at the beginning of the month but it’s giving it a good try.

The sun tried to come out about 15 minutes ago but it’s been pretty well constant falling and blowing snow for the last hour and it’s having no trouble sticking.
-
Getting heavier here now.
-
Just been out to clear the snow off the car and move it to the top of the drive and it’s damn cold in that wind.
Falling snow is not to heavy but blowing about and sticking instantly to anything it hits including the main road so it bodes we’ll for anyone who ends up under a streamer.

My garden and stables are only just back together after the last blow so I hope it doesn’t get any stronger than this. Intensity of light snow increasing.
Last time was some of the strongest winds i’ve seen here for years, can’t see it being that bad but strong easterlies always seem to hammer us up here.
nice to see falling snow blowing about.

Always enjoyed posting in this thread as it seems relaxed compared to the majority. Suppose so, we've got snow from 10pm until 3pm tomorrow apparently.
I think someone in the NW may hit 20cm+ on lower ground.
Cheers, we try and please.
good luck later.

Have a good day all, enjoy the snow. I'm guessing the Pennines are going to get clobbered today and tomorrow.
It’ll probably get rough on the roads across the tops later i’d imagine.
Pretty well everyone going to see something from this though and it looks like your part of the country is going to get some substantial snow later today and overnight.
