Is there a better way to enjoy a hot, sunny afternoon!? Couple the beer with a day at the cricket.....perfect!

    Hmm cricket, that’s a thought.

only a 10 minutes walk and a good bar although they were probably playing today instead.

reached 23c here so hardly the heat of other parts of Europe or even down south but got a sweat on giving what’s still alive of the the grass it’s first cut for nearly a month.

Definitely not feeling autumnal over on this side of the region. Sunny, low twenties celsius with light winds and feeling warm. Doesn't have the muggy feel that we had yesterday so more comfortable out.

Yeah it's decent here, not overly hot but a decent temperature to be doing a few outside jobs without feeling drained.

tomorrow looking warmer though so it could well be a beer garden afternoon.

  3. Just been stood outside while I let the dog out and it’s certainly a lot cooler tonight than for what seems like months.

Poor day overall, especially when the bar has been set so high this summer and Sunday is looking even worse with heavy rain replacing heavy showers but hopefully it dries up again early next week.

i just want my summer back.

  4. Cloudy start but brighter and a bit of sunshine as the afternoon went on and a decent 26c.

These conditions suit me fine and the SE can keep its 33.5 c with their hopes for even record breaking temperatures.

i like that type of stuff but only when they are part of a holiday, a pool and an all inclusive drinks package......not when i’m working.

Can't seem to post anything in mod thread with humour ,maybe captain no sense of humour  deleated  it ,lol

Maybe the hotter than a hot thing heatwave that they are all craving is getting on top of them a bit now.

what they need is a good old NW region cloudy spell to cool them down a bit.

The met office 6-30 day outlook talks of a "west/east split in conditions" likely and "increasing threat of more organised rain in the west".

I hope me being as far east in the North West means my summer carries on.

its not often I want to live in Yorkshire but........

  7. Not much rain today but after it looked like brightening up late afternoon it’s a bit heavier at the moment.

currently 15c and with a maximum of only 16c one of the lowest temperatures of the summer so far.

lets hope the dreaded SE/NW split isn’t about to set up with us looking on tearfully while the summer carries on darn sarf.

Lucky you. Still looking pretty yellow/brown here. Some rain would be glorious.

Same here, we’ve lived in this house for 22 years and the lawns are browner than i’ve ever seen them.

heavy showers both Thursday and Friday mornings put down about 5mm of rain between them but it’s hardly made any difference and with today’s heat, the grass has probably dried out even more.

i don’t want an end to this fantastic summer but some decent rain would be welcome.

Looking very overcast all of a sudden.... dare I get excited?

Plenty of overcast but nowt from it although i’m sure I saw a spot of rain on the windscreen on the way home from work.

its certainly coming to something though when we’re getting excited about the chance of rain but the gardens need it.
