  1. Snowing in Tormarton right now apparently. Could still make it to this part of NTH BTL.
  2. As i predicted earlier this morning the snow is going to miss us; skies clearing here in Nth BTL. Reading has been receiving a pasting this afternoon and tonight. The BBc news just now showed it absolutely chucking it down there. I think it was never on for us from about 9 this morning quite frankly. Gutted! But not surprised!
  3. According to the radar on 'raintoday' the snow is intensifying into east midlands and is pivoting. There may still be some hope for the next few hours.
  4. The much respected Nick Sussex has just posted this on the S.E. thread: "Much depends on whether the front pivots back nw, the bbc forecast showed the precip heading back nw later in the afternoon with less cold upper air being pulled up from the se over the Channel, i have my doubts though and they seemed to have gone against their 48hrs ukmo model which showed the precip not getting as far north as the 00hrs output. Several of the weather warnings they issued for parts of the west country already look like imploding, of course these situations are always difficult to get right but i fear much toys out of prams this evening from members of certain areas that were originally highlighted as being at highest risk!" Note the comment about the west country warning 'imploding' - sorry guys, looks bleak for us. A 'No snow' show tonite, i fear!
  5. Just caught News 24 in work reception and the snow is going to miss us. It will be heading towards the west and North West of London. Reckon we'll mis it completely tonight
  6. That's what i was thinking. Looks more to be heading thru'Central S England
  7. Just a sneaky one before the boss arrives here in work. Well, what a pleasant surprise.. When i went off to bed last night it was snowing but fairly light. Just past midnight couldn't get off to sleep so had a peek thru, the curtains and it was chucking it down! About 3 inches here. Beautiful scenes across the village green and thru' the churchyard on the walk to work. Small chance later this afternoon after having watched the weather at 7.20 on the beeb.
  8. Another look at the radar seems to indicate the heavier stuff may head just to the north of BTL Off to bed - hope to wake in morn to a covering of snow - somehow i doubt it though.
  9. And here it comes! Snowing again! Is this the heavier stuff that's been falling South Wales in last 30 mins? Edit at 22:32 - Erm, no! So light it ain't worth it!
  10. Well, this is disappointing. I thought the heavy stuff would've hit us by now looking at the radar or will it fizzle out?
  11. Reports in Wales thread of heavy snow in Cardiff area - come to daddy
  12. Yeah, that was a bit short lived, but radar is indicating a couple of hours of on-off showers coming in off the Bristol Channel
  13. Clouding over now, from the west, so action stations at the ready!
  14. Still a fairly clear sky here in North Bristol. Had another look at radar and it really looks like they're heading to the south of the fair city Pretty heavy frost though - roads and cars are white. Maybe i'll have a surprise and wake up to a covering.
  15. Just went onto Raintoday meteogroup radar and the showers seem to be heading east to the south of BTL
  16. Hi all, from snowless North Bristol. Direct contrast to 1st week of Feb 09.
  17. The North Bristol snow shield is in operation tonite. Any showers heading our way?
  18. Only bored Nick, because we in the West have had zilch all snow during this spell! Trends in the models do indicate a gradual move to something less cold here, but as some have alluded to today things look a bit messy and there must be every chance the deep cold will return for the New Year and hopefully we'll see some snowaction next time around.
  19. Thanks Ian. The track looks pretty much what was shown on last night's forecasts for the same time period, so nothing much seems to have changed. Looks like the S.E. may get another couple of hours of snow to top up!
