    Just been outside to put the bin out for the morn and it's v.poor quality snow IMO. Very wet and slushy. Unless it gets colder in the next couple of hours i'd say it might not be there in the morning.

    TMeads. Right, you could get on a bus, number 8 that goes to Clifton, but ask the driver to tell you when you get to the Centre, although it's pretty obvious i suppose or you could walk out of TM, down to lights where Holiday Inn Express is and then head towards St Mary Redcliffe church towards Queens Square and you're in The Centre.

    Which train station are you arriving into? Temple Meads which is about 15 mins walk from the Centre or Bristol Parkway which is in Stoke Gifford, north bristol? If you're at TM then walk into the Centre and have a beer or two onb the waterside.

    Yeah. Chucking it down here and i've got to put the bin out for tom morn...any old excuse, eh?! But i guess temp is hovering just above freezing, as my neighbour's broken drainpipe is still throwing water down Anyone in north BTL got a weatherstation for current temp?

    It is 'wet' snow here in north BTL, south gloucs...but surprisingly after all the rain today it's settled nicely...about an inch so far, everything's white. Fair play to Roger Smith (i see you're watching)...you called it right again re. your earlier post this eve.

    I'm only quoting what i saw on BBC news24 an hour ago. But hopefully you're right, 'cause i'd love to walk to work in the morn through a nice covering of snow again.

    Last forecast i saw at 8.57pm on news24, indicated heaviest snow for Glos, s.e.wales, BTL and somerset for between 10 o'clock and midnight tonite, before getting slightly less cold with light rain by morn :lol:

    V.Heavy snow now in north BTL/south gloucs. about an inch of snow here. Wind also getting up.

    Heavy stuff now. A good covering. Been warned off by my better half not to stay on here too long tonite!! well from 9 o'clock anyway. But i'll be back later with reports from south gloucs :lol: :lol:

    Just watching 'live' update of weather on news24. Definite 'upgrade for s.e.wales, Gloucs, BTL area and into somerset. Heavy snow for next few hours, but predicted to dry, then turn to rain for an hour or so in early hours. EDIT: Good covering out there in the street. Moderate snow falling.

    Completely white now in Stoke Gifford, south gloucs. Every surface is white; is this a good sign or just false hope? Discuss....

    Yes noggin. see my post from a couple of mins ago. Just started to get quite heavy here in Stoke Gifford. Check your lampost again. EDIT: News 24 now reporting live from Cranham, Glos. v.heavy snow there. Excuse my ignorance but is that a high part of Gloucs?

    Moderate snow here. Settling on cars, roads, grass. albeit a v.slushy covering. Isn't that how last Thursday nite started? EDIT: Heavy snow now. And yes, it's 100% snow.

    Sure is heavy rain in north BTL. The sleety mix from an hour ago has disappeared. I think for BTL and south of us it will be a 'no' event. cotswolds may get some of the white stuff. To be honest, if it's only going to be the wet snow variety that doesn't settle, apart from on cars, it ain't worth it IMO.

    I think BB is right, i'm afraid. Latest seems to be that it will turn to snow, but for a much shorter time than forecast a few hours ago. Plus it looks like it will turn back to rain later in the night.....that's if you believe BBC weather forecasts! EDIT: Guy on Points West right now calls snow event "knifedge"! Higher and further north in our region more chance. Rain for most i fear!

    All....Read Roger Smith's latest update (posted 10 mins ago) in the 'Watching the Channel Low' thread. Predicts main event for much later this eve. Patience is required me thinks. Roger's posts last week were v.accurate. LIVE now on HTV West - reporter again from Birdlip - looks alomost blizzard-like there right now!

    UPDATE: Live on HTV West just now. Reporter from Birdlip in Gloucstershire; it was snowing v.heavily. Anyone on here from Glos, who can tell us exactly where Birdlip is? Is it high up?

    Rain/snow mix, but mostly rain. North BTL, South Glos - and for those looking in from other parts of UK, i'm a mile from M4/M5 interchange. In fact, the 'mix' hasn't really changed in last hour, but it's v.heavy. Not sure about tonite for our area in terms of snow accum. Latest Beeb forecast says a couple of hours of snow, then back to rain.
