    Not sure guys! Looks to be just hanging around south somerset and nearby, but who knows? Would be good to do some proper lampost watching after Gavin & Stacey

    Sounds promising. I tell you what....NW is DEFINITELY the place to be on a day like today. The amount of knowledge and insight on here, from many quarters, is just brill!! The public funded BEEB take note!

    Snow still falling here and a little heavier than 30 mins ago....who knows?? :lol: People keep driving up our road, making tracks in the lovely snow....how selfish of them!!

    Just looked at radar and it looks like we're coming into a large clear slot here in BTL. But Roger Smith's post earlier alluded to a situ that could develop out of the Bristol channel, but this snow more likely to affect North devon and south somerset i think. Hopefully we'll get some of it!! :lol: Still v.light snow here in Stoke Gifford, but it appears to be dying out, looking at the lampost!

    Still snowing here in Stoke Gifford, but my wife has just come in from work at The Mall, Cribbs...and it's much heavier up there apparently! Read Roger smith's post in 'Tracking the French Low' thread...excellent post...and it indicates we might get a bit more tonite.

    Well it's still snowing now. From Roger's post i reckon we might get some more, but dunno whether it'll be a lot. it's just starting to freeze as well. Where in BTL are you?

    Excellent post Roger! That's dedication posting from Canada! Just as the one earlier today. You certainly called it right for us today in BTL. I wasn't expecting much going by the BBC last night and early this morn. Had about 3 inches here in North BTL and it's just started snowing again.

    Snowing again right now, here in north bristol. Measured depth in garden and it's 3 inches. Although road only about 2 inches. Most since 95, but still nothing like 87, 84, 81 or 78/79. Now they were major blizzard events for us! Looks like we might get a bit more on and off for next few hours, but not expecting anything major.

    Snow again here in north BTL. Just literally swept in! Massive flakes! Thought we'd missed that stuff to the south of us and to north over gloucester. Is this system pivoting?

    Paul, what's your thoughts on the main band of snow coming across the channel hitting the west; do you think Bristol may get some or are we just to going to miss out? Any indications yet as to the track of this system? Ta v.much

    Not convinced we're going to get much. Even this evening's snow seems to be too far east for us i'm afraid. Gutted! Hope it changes direction

    A dusting of snow in north bristol. Just seen BBC forecast. looks like we're going to miss the worst, even this eve looks marginal. most of the main snow is heading north up the east of england and into scotland. Gutted if that how it turns it out!

    I'm sooo jealous. Here in snowless BTL it's v.frustrating seeing the news reports tonite from London and s.e.

    Mate i'd love it to hit here. Isobel Lang on Sky news right now is saying tomorrow eve's event will go north out of London, not much westwards. Beeb says westward...i'll think we'll just have to wait and see now. Oh no!! Me and the wife are travelling to Torquay Friday morn for a weekend break!!

    Trouble is TS is that big 'blob' out of London is forecast to head sw towards IOW. Still think we'll miss any snow tonite. The BBC24 forecast now is confirming that, but tom eve looks better than earlier today. But Sky News just now still goes for northward progression and not much westward movement :blush:

    Nice one, TS! The weather forecast after BBC1 news 30 mins ago seemed to show snow further west for tomorrow night, after earlier forecasts were showing us on the 'edge' for tom eve, so maybe a promising trend for us!!

    Just seen Peter Gibbs on BBC1 after the news and that snow for tomorrow afternoon/eve seems to have changed direction again. Going north as earlier today, yes, but also more westwards towards Bristol and s.wales. This really is going to be a knife edge event for us in the west and s.wales tomorrow. seems to be changing with each forecast! A nowcast event for tomorrow. I'll have to have that radar minimised in work tomorrow

    Yep! Just started snowing in Stoke gifford. Very light. For those of you outside of BTL, this is North BTL. Edit, 2 mins later: Blimey, that was brief!
