Sunday 18th May General Weather Chat

Milky sunshine, driven out of bed by the warmth (a lot earlier than this post). 18C -
Hi Lassie, Thankfully, no allergic reaction, the main problem was I was in the bee suit too long and the only way I could stop them stinging was by cowering down into the suit and closing off the veil. That caused me to breathe my own air -- which is definitely NOT recommended, -- as suits have to be thick enough to prevent stings penetrating. I currently look like a Klingon from Star Trek, Lumpy forehead and deep set eyes....., Never mind, (obligatory reference to weather ) the weather is lovely, about 22C and milky sunshine Hope everyone out there is having a wonderful day

Well, the summers here, for a few days at least. slightly cloudy but certainly mild out there, temp already at 15C Had bit of an adventure yesterday that ended with an ambulance ride to the Norfolk and Norwich hospital. One of my hives swarmed and I thought it had gone (as they do) later inspection showed it was on the ground less than 3 meters from the hive. To cu a long story short, I damaged my veil with a lot of angry bees about. Stung multiple time and overheated in my bee suit. When I eventually got back to the house, I collapsed, wife called 999 and the rest is history. Ok now but wasn't fun at the time.....

Hiya, I was lucky enough to work at a place called Forchheim just North of Nuremburg a few years ago. Weather can be changeable with hefty showers, but if you get a quieter spell the temperatures are a few degrees above the UK. It's a lovely part of Germany with very friendly people. If you go outside the city, try to visit Bamberg, a wonderful old city

Lovely here as well, went to Banham zoo in Norfolk, an absolutely perfect day. Not too hot, nice sunshine, lots of magnificent animals enjoying the sun. Overall a lovely day. Looks like we are lucky and tomorrow will also be a good one. And my thanks (as usual) to JP. At least a week more of the regional

Not all of us are so sad to be watching Netweather all the time..... Al right -- only joking

Hi Paul, just my comments following what John Pike said. The MOD thread is a VERY intimidating place and often gets quite personal, JP's FAX updates were always aimed at the region (even those in the far north), but they were NOT national and that would (as he says open him to charges of IMBYism) I also recognise that for a few weeks there has been an undercurrent in the SE regional, but when you have a teenager able to post without being intimidated then my conclusion is that those who claim to be intimidated need to try to be objective rather than subjective. As others have commented, a little warning would have been nice.

Agree with you there Captain. Cool in the wind here with what felt like a moderate Southeasterly keeping all the shower clouds at bay. Anything South and West of ESE at least gives us a fighting chance. If the winds swap the way the forecast is predicting, we'll probably get the worse of that as well

well, a rubbish drive home, cloudy most of the way, rain in places then claggy once I got towards Norwich. Some real heavy stuff running up the north sea, typically missing the land by about 20 miles. Misty murky now, lets hope for something better tomorrow

Looks like an interesting drive home, Weybridge to North Norfolk.Wonder what I'll see? Not quite chasing, but has the same effect
