  1. 23.5c here and levelling out now. The breeze is quite strong with our door blowing shut and so on. Nice as a breeze is not when its too strong!
  2. Cooler by about 1c than this time yesterday but still very warm at 22.1c. Lovely! Soooo looking forward to finally getting to enjoy this weather during the daytime during tomorrow and Sunday!
  3. Much clearer skies today - a deep blue with lower humidity. A breeze on too and couple of degrees down on yesterday at 19.2c so far after a cooler 14.4c min. Much easier conditions for the office but maybe less so for sitting out at midnight!
  4. Having only being able to experience this spell of weather in the evenings so it's been great as temps are holding up long into the evening. Working out in the garden at midday might have been different though!
  5. I used to do lots of clubbing but find the late nights hard to work into my schedule. I only get two days a week to cram everything into so don't want to waste them in bed. I'd do lots more clubbing if they could start special 'workers' clubs opening at 7pm with the main dj on at 9pm then winding down at midnight. At the moment its gone midnight before anyone is in a club which is near impossible on a Friday night after a long week. Well unless you cheat and have a stimulant of some sort (of course I mean coffee.... ha). This is why Friday night crowd is always much younger than the Sat night crowd!
  6. Depends on your house really. If you're in a modern well insulated house and you're bedroom catches all the evening sun then I imagine 12-14c @ 5am would equate to much much higher in that bedroom @ 11pm. Conversely if you're in a poorly insulated house that keeps its cool even in hot weather and your bedroom faces east or north then you'd be fine with mins 16-18c. I fall into the latter bracket so my house is a wonderful place to be at the moment (living room max today was 22.5c) but in cooler weather it's gas guzzling time. Sadly this means it is gas guzzling time for the majority of the year!
  7. 25.8c and hottest day of the year. Lovely stuff to be stuck on the phone in the ruddy office speaking to Americans.
  8. As many peeps keep saying - this is a weather forum so people like extremes! The extremes apply at both ends of the spectrum - an icy cold easterly can be extremely unpleasant to do things in but still people want to experience -15 or -20c none the less! Nah I'd go for more like 15c-17c. No need for a jacket even on that first downhill stretch leaving my house from 'cold' but not too hot either. Not that I mind cycling in the heat anyway.
  9. Yep we all have different sleeps patterns depending on our work. When I was a student with a less regular pattern then 11am lie ins were somewhat more frequent. These days I'm pretty much awake Mon-Fri 0730-2330; Sat 0900-0130; Sun 1000-0000. Weekends very much vary with which night I go out drinking and how long that goes on for... With getting almost all our sun in the mornings lie ins are hard. Today especially so with the rare chance to have the skylight open all night (that has the black blind on it) there was orange sunlight streaming in before 0600. Looked lovely! Glad of it though - would much rather have my bedroom facing east to get you up than west thus not being bright in mornings plus overheating on summer evenings. Just wish we got *any* evening sun in our place
  10. Notice a lot of cloud on sat pics which has gladly kept away from here. Currently 22.5c so a hot one today I'm sure. Almost the weekend now - will the clear sunny skies continue or will the increasing Ely wind ruin the first chance to get some sun during the daytime?
  11. A warm night with a min of 15.5c and already 20.6c at 9am. More haze than recent days but still - lovely!
  12. Yes agree, if you've something to add please do - otherwise don't.
  13. Roll on the weekend when I can enjoy it properly! Despite the sun pouring into the office (and directly on me) I doubt I'll be tanning until Saturday & Sunday.
  14. Seems the dew point has just taken a leap (13c now almost 16c) with temps leveling off at about 24c. The sky is slightly more hazy too. A sticky night ahead I think!
  15. Another perfect May day with clear blue skies and strong sunshine. Slightly warmer than yesterday already currently 24.6c. Long may it continue!
  16. Absolutely! My house is bathed in sunlight from about 7-7:30am at this time of year making getting up for work no longer an alarm clock job. Weekend lie ins are not easy to the point I don't bother now. Means I'm getting plenty of time to do stuff plus not throw sleep patterns too far out to the working week. Contrast this to winter when the snooze button & much groaning are the result!
  17. Fairly expected results with most folk preferring 22-25c by day and 12-14c by night - exactly the weather we have now! Key for me is for it to remain t-shirt weather for sitting right till bedtime. Last night was like that despite cooling to just over 14c. Perhaps it isn't nightly mins we need to consider but perhaps 'temperature by midnight'? Last night was 18c with no wind and decent humidity at midnight - easily be sitting out weather. Not that I was out that late but still!
  18. 19.2c here and only 0845! Clear blue skies and another wonderful day ahead. Can't wait for 5pm!
  19. Yes 22c+ minimum is deffo an air conditioning job especially in a well insulated UK home! Think highest min I've recorded was just shy of 20c which was quite toasty that's for sure. In Barbados it was 25c mins which was without a doubt an air con job!
  20. 25-26c is the ideal regular maximums for me with mins 16-18c in the cities. This keeps things warm into the evening as well as not stifling in the day. In fact yesterday was pretty close to perfect (24.3c max, 14.4c min) especially since it was still t-shirt weather at almost 11pm. I like to see extreme maximums too so higher the better - simply for the experience of it. I wouldn't want 35c everyday of the summer though but not and again it's good to feel it. If yesterday was the main default then that'd do me!
  21. Only ever got stung once before as a kid and don't remember it much. I just stepped on one so it stung my big toe. Feel mildly shocked but pain went quickly so no big deal... Few beers should cure it!
  22. Sooo lovely to be home in this weather! Indoors (well downstairs) is cooler then outside (23c out 20.8c in) and the damn key for the window has gone missing in the long long long looongggg time it's been since the window was opened. Most annoying as want to get some warm air in! Just got stung by a bee whilst watering the garden. Always thought it'd be worse than that...
  23. Seriously it might be worth seeing someone about that! No one should have that kind of aversion to a bit of warmth & sunlight. It really isn't hot either - just slightly warm...
