I’m heading up to Connaught Water for a walk later. Really surprised to see it had snowed again overnight, freshening up the Chingford Alps!
Pole Hill has been excellent all week for tobogganing!
The snow is being pushed back hour after hour. Now 1000 for light snow in my location (was 0100 for heavy snow earlier). Sadly it’s looking poor if not very poor for much of our region.
The snow keeps getting pushed back, hour by hour, and decreasing in intensity.
There does seem to be a downgrade on (on the models) but it will come down to watching the radar.
I was living in Ealing in those days. Remember a great day up on Horsenden Hill. That was that weird French system that tracked almost due north across the Channel as I recall? Great event.
I think 3-4cm Chingford/Waltham Abbey maybe 5-6cm in the favoured elevated spots in Epping Forest itself.
Somewhat underwhelming given what might have been but we are in a better place than those further west.
But a few chances next week as the weather stays cold and the winds stays easterly.
