  1. Very windy and cold with a temp of 1.5c and the odd flurry of dandruff.
  2. The front was aligned on a totally different axis back in 1996, it was more N-S with a slight tilt backwards. Superb event though up here 30-40cm+.
  3. Light snow falling here and feeling bitter in the increasing wind.
  4. Probably a lot higher than many of the models or TV broadcasts would have you believe! Amazed at rate this ppn has been developing over the last few hours, show me a 12z model that has forecast this at the same level of intensity? It's nearly as significant in it's own right! I'd say eventually it'll merge with the main band and become even heavier!
  5. The really cold feed of air will be with us overnight, expect falling temps and a severe windchill in the continental flow and very cold uppers.
  6. I hope to see this maintained on the next set of runs, the 12z GFS would do nicely here with persistent snow heavy at times from midday tomorrow until well into Saturday accompanied by gale force winds and gusts 50-55mph.... Dream on lol
  7. Well I suggest you do a snow dance and pray that future runs maintain or upgrade the potential further
  8. Well the 12z GFS & UKMO-GM both say yes to an upgrade for the whole region, looking far far better north to south than it was this morning Everyone can be pleased so far this evening with potentially another blizzard for the start of next week!
  9. Perhaps things are looking up for the region! That developing low really could hammer some parts as the fronts begin to wrap around the circulation.
  10. UKMO 12z also agrees with the GFS!! Keeps the snow going over N England right out to T72. http://www.meteociel...ech=6&archive=0
  11. Quite clear to see this is a significant upgrade in snowfall potential for the whole region by the GFS! Lets hope this trend continues!
  12. to my eyes the 12z wants to pivot the ppn over Wales & Midlands over the region before it pulls away to the NW? That what it looks like on meteociel anyway
  13. 12z looks like an upgrade with ppn getting into central/southern Scotland
  14. ppn seems to be intensifying over the country so lets hope this continues and gets enhanced as the front moves closer
  15. Heres the Look North weather forecast I mentioned earlier showing the snow over all the region - http://news.bbc.co.u...000/7760853.stm The NAE model is actually owned/used by the Met Office, for those who didn't know.
  16. Northern extent slightly further north on this run, I may get 1cm if I'm lucky
  17. Comparing the 6z & 12z NAE then the changes are negligible, maybe 10 miles or so. The real test now is to see how far it can make it NE, still showing light ppn over most of the region.
  18. He'll likely make the video the day before not expecting any huge changes haha
  19. Looking at the ppn there I think Michael has done the video forecast with data from last night.
  20. 2.7c here today slightly up on yesterday and the se'ly wind is beginning to pick up.
