  1. Very odd that the west coast is colder and had more snow than some inland locations, not complaining though and it's still snowing.
  2. Schools closed and gridlock in West Cumbria this morning! Still snowing but not quite as heavy.
  3. Looks like white out conditions in the far east of Cumbria up near Alston within the amber warning area - http://www.bbc.co.uk/cumbria/content/webcams/nenthead_webcam.shtml
  4. Still moderate snow falling with plenty more pushing in from the east
  5. Really the ppn over your way looks heavy? Not falling as snow?
  6. Still hammering it down here nearly getting on for 1.5/2 inches.
  7. LOL the snow is heaviest where the Met warning doesn't cover.
  8. Really coming down here, could end up with a good few inches if not more depending on how long the snow hangs around for which could be tonight if some models are to be believed.
  9. Despite cloud cover and a breeze the temp continues to fall slowly, sitting at 0.5c now DP -1.0c
  10. Met Office now have me down for heavy snow tomorrow, certainly an upgrade from this morning! The 12z was showing many hours of ppn over N England from tomorrow.
  11. The low pressure will track north taking the ppn with it, always heavier to the east of the Pennines.
  12. It's funny how they can draw a line for depths and the snow will not cross it haha Mind you the best snow events are the un-forecast ones, I find it hard to believe that with low pressure sitting over N England and strong to gale force easterly winds causing blizzards there'll be no snow to the west, some surprises coming up I'm sure!
  13. Amber warning issued now for the NE and eastern Cumbria - http://www.metoffice...Time=1358596860 Not far off red on the matrix.
  14. Exceptionally heavy snow heading towards the SE I'm surprised some eastern districts aren't under an amber warning for blizzards and drifting snow!
  15. Heres the overnight picture as the low pressure & snow track north.
  16. I'd be surprised if it didn't with the winds picking up from the east, hoping to get some snow blown over this side!
  17. Certainly looking interesting over N England tomorrow on the BBC weather map with strong winds and snow, I Imagine the Pennines will be buried!
  18. Some mixing going on with the uppers from this system, around the -6c mark for a large part of the region.
  19. Easterly wind picking up now and bitterly cold with it, air temp 1.9c with a wind chill around -6c.
