Once again the sheet of cloud has prevented any significant fall in temperatures, disappointing! Predictions of severe frosts and -10c aren't going to happen whilst much of the UK is shrouded in cloud, some very wide off the mark minimum temperature predictions.
Currently -0.5c here after a low of -1.1c, Would have loved having clear skies overnight during this colder period giving bone chilling overnight minimums and ice days. The odd thing about this 'cold spell' is that it hasn't actually been that cold and it certainly won't be classed as anything memorable from an IMBY perspective, perhaps February can deliver something more noteworthy.
Looking forward to some Atlantic action and wind events to push this boring cold grey weather away
