  1. I scraped another ice day yesterday no higher than 0C, max I saw was -0.2C. Last night it got below -11C, currently 9.8C, whereas BBC app says -3C.
  2. T+48 Generally moving in a positive direction in terms of more separation between the Atlantic and Icelandic Lows. T+84 T+72 Generally moving in a negative direction in terms of less separation between the Atlantic and Icelandic Lows.
  3. T+120s: GFS 18z ECMWF 12z UKMO 12z JMA 12z ICON 18z GEM 12z NAVGEM 12z Quite a lot of variation this time in terms of the shape and position of the 'Icelandic Low' and it's relationship with the 'Atlantic Low'.
  4. Of course, it might be more accurate to compare Decembers 2010 and 2022 once the latter has ended.
  5. It's the 'positive tilt' that's more disconcerting. It needs to be leaning the other way for an undercut.
  6. Managed to get an overnight dusting over all surfaces from the remnants of the snow from the east. Currently -1C with the overnight temperature not getting below -2C.
  7. -0.6C, which it's been hovering around all evening. The snow that has affected the London area has been gradually approaching - now only about 10 miles to the east.
  8. T+120s: GFS 18z ECMWF 12z UKMO 12z JMA 12z ICON 18z GEM 12z NAVGEM 12z Looking for the ridge to the north to exert some southward pressure on that Low to squash it down on future runs.
  9. Another classic nofall: being just to far east of the main band and when radar said there should be something light, barely anything visible. However, did get an ice day with temperature maxing at -0.1C, currently down to -0.6C.
  10. I have been at the eastern extremity of this for the last hour and a half since 6:30am. With the frost already in place there is no discernible covering, but I can see the odd flake falling. At -3.4C it would certainly stick.
  11. Temperature has risen to -4.2C, from a minimum of below -6C, thanks to crappy cloud. Probably won't go colder than last night now and may scupper getting an ice day.
  12. Here's another T+120 comparison - wedgewatch: GFS 18z ECMWF 12z UKMO 12z JMA 12z ICON-EU 18z GEM 12z NAVGEM 12z
