It is remarkable how frequently shocking weather coincides with the schools breaking up, it's been a pretty good summer in the SE but today reminds me of 2007
Frustrating just how frequently the warmth and settled conditions of a British sumner drop off a cliff just as the summer holidays come around in late July & August!
Off to Devon in a week's time and disappointed to see current forecasts
I remember that Sunday of the record temp in 2003 and the afternoon clouded over, I'd been at work all day so hadn't experienced that heat. Today I was able to head out for lunch, just phenomenal temps, reminded me of a Sydney summer's day!
Sat in Cavendish Square in Central London, sun is now out and cloud burning away. Really is very hot, hair dyer feel to that breeze. Temps must be rapidly rising back into the mid 30s if it stays this way. Beautiful!
That is amazing, not expecting the UK's overall record to fall but I can't recall temps being that high at this time in the morning back on 10th August 2003
Will be interesting to see how Wimbledon plans to handle this possible outcome as those temperatures usually lead to an extreme heat policy. Really does appear to be a repeat of July 2006!
Even the BBC Weather App refused to add a single flake of snow this morning despite the obvious ones fluttering past the lamp posts as I headed to work at 6am
