  1. Just arrived at Waterloo, on a night shift at Broadcasting House, and the rain's turned heavier again
  2. Aside from some heavy rain and a couple of rumbles of thunder all a bit of a non event in my part of Surrey. At least the lawn will appreciate the rain
  3. Needless to say, with a forecast like this I bet Seb Coe is pleased the Olympics opened up a year ago and not tonight!
  4. Sky darkening and gusting wind picking up here in Surrey
  5. A gorgeous summer's afternoon by the Thames in Weybridge. Small fluffy clouds but predominantly blue sky and lovely and warm in the sun. After the deluge at night and the sunny day it's feeling like a holiday in the Med!
  6. Belting it down in Surrey, first rain I've seen in weeks. I can almost hear my parched lawn slurping it up
  7. This is the July that keeps on giving, a glorious day in central London. Cavendish Square is packed and the sun is beating down!
  8. Blimey, it's a warm one! Met tweeting 32.8 at Northolt, surely that hasn't peaked yet
  9. What a depressing fax! Suppose all good things must come to an end at some point.
  10. I was thinking exactly the same thing earlier, I've only ever seen him tweet about potential low pressure moving into the UK. Does he have a preference?Anyway, it's fascinating model watching at the moment, twists and turns at every juncture.
  11. Great to see this output, I've been on holiday in the south of France for the past week and temps here are fractionally lower than the UK is currently experiencing. Relieved to see that models suggesting the heat sticking around for a week today as I'll be celebrating my 40th! Have a wonderful weekend, best regards from Le Lavandou on the Med
  12. I think it's fair to say the weather ain't too bad! Looks amazing today, that Wednesday/Thursday rain was just a little gag from the weather gods!
  13. As John says, there are plenty if people who really appreciate Julian's work ahead of Glasto. I'm not there this year but have been to the past three festivals and Jackone's forecasts are now part of the traditional build-up. The efestivals weather thread hangs on his every word and I know from their comments over there how much they appreciate his efforts. Sounds like the mud is now compacting, it will provide the springy surface that's actually quite pleasant to walk on.
  14. Another gorgeous afternoon in West Sussex, sun's nicely warm when out of the breeze
  15. Now this is a squally shower! Incredible video http://m.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-22999838
  16. I'm down at my mother's in West Sussex and it's been a glorious late afternoon and evening, blue skies and pleasantly warm. Just ventured to the beach and had a little paddle, the Channel didn't feel too cold either. Only a couple of days ago I thought today might be a write off, despite the murky morning it's been fine.
  17. It has to be said that jet position has been a rarety in the past six summers, it's good to see
  18. Phew it's a warm one! Makes a nice change, presume it'll be the hottest day of the year?
  19. Wow, what a difference a day makes. Gorgeous afternoon! Well hello sunshine
  20. Thought you might like that run William, as you say plenty of twists and turns to come over the next week especially for those with an interest in weather for Wimbledon and Glasto. As Gavin pointed out above, Ian Ferguson tweeted that the UKMO favours slightly higher prob of drier/warmer later June, would be interesting to see if this verified. You read my mind Frosty
  21. It was related to Frosty039 giving temps in Fahrenheit and not Celsius, I think!
  22. I've always been one for a sweeping statement John I'm sure stats don't back up my statement at all, but it feels like we've been on the wrong side of the Jet Stream for the last seven or so years. The glorious summer of 2003 and the intense July heat of 2006 seem a very long time ago.
