Convective Outlook ⚡

Scattered showers will develop across Eng bringing the risk of sporadic lightning within most intense cells which also may contain hail, but nothing severe worthy.

Haven't seen the radar showing hail for months, until this evening. I'm under the hail on the radar and currently it's light to moderate rain. When we had those large hailstones last month, the radar had no hail 😄

sunnijim  that was east, but looking west, it was so strange looking, pitch black but with hints of like green black too. Very stormy looking. We went over downs a few mins after that photo. The hail in it was mental, had to pull over for a little bit

I’ll post more pics  when I get the off of my camera, I don’t know if the brightness was any good tho

Stunning cloudscapes today. Huge anvil to my northwest, I assume it's the Wolves or Stafford Cell.

Shared this news article about a Tornado in West Bridgford yesterday for anyone who come to this fourm.

WESTBRIDGFORDWIRE.COM

As the Met Office warned of strong winds, a freak weather event described as a tornado swept through several West Bridgford roads at around 7:30 am on Monday

A few heavy showers likely with hail (seen a report of hail from Nuneaton) passing just east of here, but my area has managed to stay dry so it's mostly a pleasant mid April afternoon so far.

A lot more convective than forecast.  Just has a decent thunderstorm,  ball bearing size hail and lightning, two claps of thunder.

More bubbling up in the distance.

Turquoise The winds were something else here under that squall. Things literally bent horizontal for a brief period. If it had lasted any longer than it did there would have been a lot of damage (trees were already blown down as it was).

Cheshire Freeze it was pretty wild yes, not sure if you are aware but there was a 'tornado' that hit Knutton near Stoke from that same squall line yesterday morning. No damage where we were but lots of pink lightning and very strong gusts with hail. Didn't last long though, maybe 15 mins max before it moved away

Still managing to avoid the showers somehow which is what I wanted to keep it dry here, but they did look quite threatening to my east about half hour ago.

Cheshire Freeze very strange, I was returning home in Crewe and could see some really black clouds and precipitation in the distance, but we have had no rain or wind in this part of Crewe so far. Obviously extremely localised and, with black clouds all around, I'm not sure we're going to stay dry.

A Face like Thunder this was yesterday morning mate (the squall).

Today we’ve had intermittent hail bursts on and off through the afternoon. We’ve been right on the edge of that line of shower activity.
