I'm going to have to try and stay awake to follow all this up on Fox news. Problem is that the storm will hit around 04:00am here. Those lucky Americans get it early in the evening

Are you for real paranoid.  Do you realy think they are lucky?  You must be mad  My freids got blasted in Miami when Katrina hit at Cat 1 and they were battered good and proper.  I would not feel very lucky if this was heading to me.  How old are you?  Maybe you should rephrase your statement.

youve got to be joking. Nobody is lucky to be in the path of this monster. The city of New Orleans is BELOW SEA LEVEL and if this hurricane hits, the city will be completely demolished.

I think the adrenaline will keep me awake to watch this tonight.

Shame we ain't got a chatroom to talk about it and keep each other awake.

The people of NO are probably the most unlucky people. They're likely to lose everything important to them. As i said, i apoligise about above comment.

Anyway, what time can we expect the storm surge to hit?

With regard to TJWx map above, Fox reported earlier that the storm could maintain hurricane force winds until it reaches the Mississippi/Tennessee border - i.e. until Tuesday morning local time.

This has the potential to be truly dreadful.

I doubt that, The eye is scheduled to pass at 12 pm GMT I don't think it would take 2 hours from the tip to the eye to pass
