For about 20 minutes to my north-west i saw a rather large CB developing...it was pretty isolated tho. It has moved off the horizon now, and i don't think it will develop any more...

Unfortunately...i couldn't photograph the whole thing in all of its glory. Because by the time i could get my camera, it had moved off further north-west behind the horizon and i have to run up a huge hill to get that sort of view again...

There are cloud-streets of cumulus congestus and occasional low-topped cumulus castellanus. There is a small risk of an isolated shower in parts of Teesdale, north Pennines and the border regions today (risk very low tho at 20%).

Dissapointing in Hastings today,we have picked up more of a northeasterly today therfore we are being plagued by north sea cloud,yesterday the wind was from a more northerly quarter and we managed the highest temperature in Britain at 19 degrees with some long sunny spells.

Well i guess the CB's earlier in the morning developed due to a combination of high morning RH's, dew points, as well as the combination of the latter dew-point\humidity providing fuel for orographic uplift amidst the convective potential of early morning sunshine and warm southerly winds.

Now...the humidity has started to dissipate, and hence the convection has started to subside.

This is my first post on this forum, so I'd like to take the opportunity to say hi to everyone.

Currently here in Mid-Cornwall conditions are as follows-:

Temp - 17.0c

Wind - Vrb, mainly N 3kts

Cloud - 1/8 Cu @ around 4000ft

The lack of wind combined with the still reasonably strong sunshine is making it feel quite warm and this is a pleasant change from the last 3 days of predominately anticyclonic gloom.
